Excellent soup of the day

In contrast to many posts here it seems, we found this cafe to be excellent. We both had the soup and half sandwich special. The soup of the day, a thick, creamy chicken loaded with chicken pieces was excellent, and the sandwiches (I had roast beef and mustard) was very good. Didn't try any of the... read more

I just happened by when the baker was in the kitchen baking for the day and he stopped to make me a quick tuna sandwich on green chili cornbread - so good! I appreciated his skill at doing so many things at once and still taking time to serve me. It is all delicious and a lovely escape on your... More

One of those times I could give three and a half stars. I had the roadrunner which was basically turkey, Swiss with green chile peppers with chips. The sandwich was good but the options of pasta or potato salad were not available leading to settle for chips. The cinnamon rolls looked great but we didn't try any to say one... More

I dropped in and asked a question about one of the Menue Item the answer I received was 'NO WE DON'T HAVE IT" Then he turned away from me and started talking to his partner just left me standing there and never asked me if I wanted or needed any thing. Also when I was there there were 4 people... More

Stopped in the Nob Hill area after the Balloon fiesta this morning around 9:30am. Had high expectations based on TA reviews.... we were disappointed... they are tucked back in a corner (hard to find).... service was slow lattes were "OK"... but nothing special pastries were a disappointment.... pecan sticky roll... dry; blackberry turnover... almost missed the blackberries (dry) we'd go... Great place for coffee and sweets after a long week of exercising and shopping! Not a tourist trap! Very friendly locals!

Located out of the way in old town this place hit the spot. Our lunch of sandwichs made on fresh made bread was just what we needed. Too bad they were so big, I would have loved to have had room left to try a piece of pastry on display.

I found this place when walking around Old Town and was happy I stopped. The sandwich plate was a generous portion. There are a lot of bread and cheese options to make the sandwich you want. There seemed to be quite a selection of baked goods, also. The man working was friendly and brought my order outside when it was... More

This is a hidden gem within old town. I have enjoyed both the sweets as well as lunch and have not been disappointed. My only negative point was it could be a little cleaner. I was slightly turned off by a few flies inside the shop.
