Reliably Good

This small neighborhood restaurant is reliably good, and we go often. The food is not unusual, or extraordinary, but very always enjoyable and a good value. The decor is nicer than most, and the service is friendly.

We went here based on TA reviews and were not disappointed. We don't have good Asian food in our hometown so this was a nice surprise. The food was fresh, light, nicely seasoned and we enjoyed our Orange Chicken and Shrimp with lobster sauce.

My husband and I had carry-out for dinner. We shared steamed dumplings, he had the walnut shrimp, I had BBQ pork w/broccoli. I asked for no mushrooms and they obliged. The food is good. There's nothing to rave about and there's nothing to complain about. Prices are average; service is friendly and this is a nice neighborhood restaurant.

I have a fairly high standard when it comes to Chinese food, so when I read the reviews on this place, I knew I had to try it. The waitress was extremely attentive, helpful, and amenable. I can't do spicy foods, but she assured me several of the dishes I inquired about could be prepared without all the spice. I... More

The food is amazing. Very good flavours, good portions. The staff is wonderful. We have probably eaten here 5 or 6 times in the last couple of months. The staff is always welcoming (and recognize us! *lol*)

I always say Albuquerque is loaded with mediocre Chinese restaurants but Rising Star rose above that for my wife and me. We started with a scallion pancake. It was different than what I was used to, flakey and almost pastry-like as opposed to more eggy but we enjoyed it. I had the General Tao's chicken. While this is a sweet... More

I have eaten lunch at Rising Star many times and have never been disappointed in the quantity, quality, or price of the food. It's just good Chinese-American food done right.

We do Sat lunch w/ family. We go here often. Nice family restaurant. The food is always good. We all have something different. Everyone likes what they order. Great prices, as well. I would say $$. Very reasonable for what you get.

Friendly! Tasty! Clean! Fair prices! This is the point where I reach a problem because I've said everything that needs saying, everything pertinent and TripAdvisor requires a 100 minimum.

Family run w super friendly, polite and quick service. Several regulars came in and were greeted by name or a hug. Nice varied menu without having to take an hour to read it. Several lunch specials with about a third hot n spicy (will adjust level to your request) and ranged from $6.15-6.85. Water had two big wedges of lemon... More
