Great Sushi in New Mexico

Dined here with colleagues for sushi dinner and was not disappointed. We entered the restaurant without reservation and were promptly seated. We started with large Sapporo beers and ordered the sushi boat but subbed out the California rolls for Angel and 911 rolls. The sushi was well portioned... read more

Especially long wait for a table...came early. When we checked in, it was a 45 minute wait...when I check again at 45 minutes it was 15, when I checked the third time, it was another 15...the fourth time she said I called you (we were at the bar...the only ones at the bar). We sat at the hibachi grill. The... More

I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to Japanese food in New Mexico, but Azuma has always been a family favorite. We've been going to the old location on San Mateo so we were really excited when they opened another one on Wyoming this year. It's beautiful! Personally I really love the sushi, like the Make My Day... More

The service was beyond slow. We sat at a regular table (not teppan grill), and it took 45 minutes to get our food. When it arrived, half the food on the plate was cold. They forgot to put friend rice on one of our dishes, and when I brought it to their attention, it took another ten minutes to bring... More

My boyfriend and I LOVE Hyashi Hibatchi here in Albuquerque so we figured we would try Azuma to be fair. Worst mistake. My boyfriend and myself went on a Sunday night and had to wait about 20mins to be seated which was totally fine.. But then we waited about 10 mins for our drinks, 10 minutes for soup, 10 minutes... We started with large Sapporo beers and ordered the sushi boat but subbed out the California rolls for Angel and 911 rolls. The sushi was well portioned and very fresh. Our service was spectacular. I great spot for sushi!

What a disappointment! The slick postcard announcing NEW LOCATION and stating, "Experience the high, upscale Japanese cuisine with affordable prices" just isn't true. We lunched there today. First, one needs to be aware that televisions abound. Second, the sound track is "glottal" music, loud, disturbing, and not conducive to a pleasant "high, upscale" dining experience. Perhaps the name should be... More

Last night my husband and I visited the new Azuma on Paseo del Norte. We requested a table and we're seated very close to the entrace. This presented the first problem. Every time someone entered or exited, we were blasted with frigid air. Second, we ordered a large Sapporo beer and after a few minutes our waiter told us they... More

We went to the azuma on wyoming and paseo. The wait for teppan was too long so we sat in dining room. It is so dark we needed a flashlight to see the menu. I was very disappointed in the food. The tempura calamari was greasy and flavorless. The lettuce in the salad was very bitter. I ordered the ribeye... More
