Very satisfying

I dined here late afternoon, on my route 66 drive. This is a very good restaurant. Perhaps not great, but very good. The chips and salsa were full fresh and tasteful. The chie relleno outstanding. Cheese green enchilada, very good. the weakest was the carne ava..... whatever. it was good, but not... read more

We’ve been regular customers of Casa de Benavidez for many years and still think it’s about the best New Mexican food in town. The service can be slow at times but the food is worth the wait. They have both indoor and patio seating except in the winter, when the patio is closed. Their salsa and chile are both excellent,... More

We loved the superb service, peaceful garden dining space, delicious shrimp fajitas, amazing sopapillas, and great price.

Casa de Benavidez is an ABQ 4th St. must try. It hasn't disappointed in the 20+ years I've been eating here. The service is efficient and friendly. The margaritas are yummy; The food is always well prepared and tasty. I love their carne adovada. My husband's favorite is the chile rellenos. It's a beautiful restaurant to take tourists too.

This restaurant was recommended to me by my host at the Casita Chamisa - a B&B I was staying at. I couldn't stop smiling the minute I rounded the corner to be seated I saw the glass wall that revealed a beautiful outside oasis! It was a beautiful botanical garden with lush flowers, trees and a small waterfall. This is... More

We arrived right at closing time, but they would not think about letting us go somewhere else. No one was upset, and we still got good food and friendly service which I was initially concerned about. I have 2 food recommendations: first, the chicken chillies rellenos in red sauce were excellent but hot. Just be warned but the flavor was... More

In most recent years I have visited Albuquerque for an industry symposium and yet this is "only" the second visit. Now that I understand this treasure I will pay homage here to the quintessential New Mexico question, "Red...or Green?" This refers to the classic red and green hatch chili pepper sauce that is a predominant part of traditional Southwestern cuisine.... More

Super busy on a Friday evening early. Diners wanting no better than average Mexican food, service & drinks I guess. For myself it starts with the little things. Last season the patio was more like being in lush garden environment. Nope, more overgrown with little personal attention to keeping things up which is both time consuming & spendy. Ok moving... This was a special treat from our New Mexican friends and it was above excellent! The server and all we ate was scrumptious and I loved the green and red chili sauces. What else can I say, never had a margarita and was not in the least disappointed with their version! Our food was just the right temperature and just... More
