On a recent visit to Albuquerque, our friends suggested Casa de Benevidez for a lunch stop. I had been looking forward to some good New Mexico style Mexican Food. After being stationed in Albuquerque many, many years ago, I learned that it can't be beaten foe great Mexican Food. I was not disappointed. We found it to be a nice... More

This restaurant is outstanding, the best salsa in the country. It's a traditional New Mexico themed place. The ambience is great and the food is superb.

We ate at Casa de Benevidez after reading several online reviews and at the recommendation of the hotel when we asked for a place that served "real New Mexican cuisine." We were seated on the patio on a breezy night that the temperature was in the low 80s. Our children enjoyed watching the fish swim in the small pond and... More

We were recommended to go to this restaurant by a local resident. What a delicious dinner! We ordered the sampler dinner for two, and there was so much food,if we were home, we would have had enough for another meal. Sapodillas were out of this world, especially dipped in honey! The service was excellent. If we ever visit Albuquerque again,... More

Little known outside the local community, this restaurant offers superb service and food quality. During the summer months, sit outside near the koi pond in a very 'private feeling' patio with trees and flowers and tasteful music. Connie and I have been dining here for years and the food and service just gets better. On the weekends, it is best... More

I loved the ambience but the food was mediocre at best. The salsa was too spicy, even for a seasoned veteran of spicy. The rice was ok but tasted like I could make it at home. Sopaillas came out with the dinner. I prefer the server to ask if we want it with the meal or after. By the time... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first and last time yesterday afternoon. We arrived around 4:25, the restaurant was empty and we chose a table next to the window overlooking the patio. Out of the blue, two of the waiters, in a very abrupt and unfriendly manner came to our table asking us if we wanted the... More

My boyfriend and I were staying in Albuquerque for the night and wanted to go to the best restaurant in town. Our BNB suggested this restaurant and we are so thankful. Make sure you can handle the heat, because their salsa was the hottest I've ever had. Incredible, but so hot. We had the guacamole too which was divine and... More

Casa de Benevidez well worth the trek from the more known parts of Albuquerque and into the North Valley. Decent value, typical beer taps of Negro Modelo and Dos Equis, but the food was Albuquerque through and through. Don't forget extra sopaipillas.
