Tasty New Mexico food

Brought out of town relatives here. All four of us found a spot at the counter and what a place to watch the crew here work! They were quick to ask what we wanted to drink. Mostly New Mexican food on the menu with some burger options which my nephew chose & said it was the best burger he has... read more

Duran has always been a keenly anticipated stop for our family when passing through ABQ. We've shopped the quirky gift selection and eaten memorable meals in the diner many a time. However, we were sorry to see during our last visit that the mood has changed significantly from the mellow vibe we're used to. Management has upped the number of... More

It may seems strange, but Duran Central Pharmacy has great mexican food. Small dining area in the back of the store. Although the menu is limited you will never get a bad meal. Staff is friendly and attentive. The pharmacy itself has several unusually gift items. Don't miss this stop when you are in Albuquerque.

Unique experience with real local favorites. We sat at the counter and were served by Donna, an efficient, friendly and sassy veteran server in this family owned pharmacy and restaurant.

Perfect cheese enchiladas ( red) and nice warm tortilla....is there any more to say? I had intended to save some food, but I cleaned my plate.

Why bother you ask when some recent reviews note that Duran's is either "over rated" or pricey? Well, because this is home cooking that hasn't changed for decades. I've been coming here for more than four decades. What is appreciated is that the waitresses remember you, know what you like and serve your meal with more than a smile. They... More

Wow, what a weird pleasure this place is. A restaurant in a pharmacy, and the food is great. Both my wife and I had the Huevos Ranchero with carne adovada added. This stuff is very, very tasty. And tell ya what, one of the best features was that the food was just right on salt, not overly salty as many... More

This is one of my two "Go To" New Mexican restaurants. Food is very good and the chile is impressively consistent in flavor and spice. I had Huevos Rancheros con Chile colorado today. Delicious! The tortilla is big enough to scoop up the chile on the plate. The only thing that is odd is their salsa. It is peeled, chopped... More

We chose to eat at this place based on the review in Moon's New Mexico guide book, which had proven spot on a dozen times before, but this one was the exception. Average food, prices not so low for this kind of place. Only positive was that the the waitress was enthusiastic and outgoing.

So I cannot tell a lie but when I walked up to this place, I completely thought I had the wool pulled over my eyes for a late April Fool's joke. Was I ever wrong. First walk past the gift shop, do it after you eat, and find a table in the south side of the building. This was one... More
