Always great food, expect a short wait!

This was a top secret New Mexico eatery located in a pharmacy but the word is out, it's good and you may have to wait to be seated during lunchtime! Huge plates of food, many choices, all served by people I have seen there FOREVER. This is a true cultural experience and one I will continue to enjoy... read more

This is one of those quirky places that offers specialty compounded medications and a cafe that serves breakfast and lunch. The pricing at the pharmacy is anything but cheap, but they can create whatever medication your doctor orders. The cafe is quaint and offers a limited menu, but the food and service is good and the pricing isn't outrageous. There... More

At the risk of blowing the cover on an eatery that's a local favorite, Duran's Pharmacy has a wonderfully tasty secret--the small diner in the corner of the store. Everyone seems to know everyone else at this diner, and you're immediately comfortable in this warm atmosphere. Blue corn enchiladas with added egg on top and huevos with blue corn tortillas... I was in the Old Town area for a conference, and ecstatic when the agenda listed Monday lunch as "on your own". I immediately chose to go to Duran's-taking along two colleagues to introduce them to a truly great ABQ experience; and to get my green chile fix. Both the food and service were excellent; and we didn't have to... More

Recommended by a jewelry maker at a Pasadena jewelry and gem show. Ed was right - this place serves very good food - I had lunch. Food was generous, hot, and tasty, Service was very nice lady who gave me tips as a 1st time visitor to NM area. In back of Duran Pharmacy. Eat at counter, or sit at... More

We tried this place based upon such wonderful reviews. We were thoroughly disappointed. This is not a Mexican eatery serving authentic food!! The food had no seasoning or flavor and is over priced for what you get. Before we could even look at the menu, the server asked if we wanted Guacamole with our chips, of course we said yes,... In the back of a pharmacy/gift store. Fun setting and awesome food. We went once for lunch and returned the next day for breakfast. Yum!

We were steered here by the people at the ABQ Art and History Museum. It seemed like an unlikely place to find a good meal, but we were very glad we went. They have different daily specials and things like frito pie, burritos etc. The secret is in the sauce that has a deep rich chili flavor without being too... More

When the waiter asks "red or green" but doesn't say red or green "what" (it was homemade chile sauce), you know you are in a "locals" place. We had homemade tamales that were fantastic. You'll need to seek this place out--the drug store is well marked; the restaurant, not so much

Someone in our party had read a review and wanted to visit this place....when I walked in to a 'pharmacy that had a restaurant,' I was not excited nor impressed. Was I ever sadly mistaken. The menu had an excellent variety and all at low to moderate prices for lunch. Unable to make a decisions for myself, I asked our... More
