Saw this restaurant on food TV show. Donna was our server and had also been featured on the show. She is a HOOT!!!!! Food was excellent - hubby had the green chili bowl and loved it! Excellent find. Super friendly and its a place where the locals go....that is a good sign!!!!! As far as the controversy over red or... More

Wonderful southwestern fare. Chicken enchilladas were on special. The tortilla's are hand made and delicious. We liked it so much, we went back on our way to the airport.

"Flavor" both in food and atmosphere! The kind of place where locals come regularly, and where the staff gets to know your name. Tortillas made freshly in front of you are as good as any I've ever had, and the chili dishes are very flavorful. Moderate pricing, but sometimes a little slow getting your coffee cup filled if there are... More

Located right on Route 66 (Central Avenue) near Old Town in Albuquerque, NM, this very come-as-you-are restaurant was recommended to us by locals. They have awesome guacamole and chips for an appetizer, and excellent chicken enchiladas and red or green chili. The service was excellent, and I believe it is run by a family. It is a very quaint restaurant,... More

I have eaten here three times since I moved to Albuquerque in December. Wanting to discover what all of the fuss was about, I sampled different items on each visit. It was highly recommended by my sister who loves it – granted she was only a tourist. My first visit I had chips with guacamole and a non meat dish... More

Being a local from NM I have always had friends or family members talk about Duran's. I myself have never been there myself until yesterday and it was a pleasant surprise. Their Thursday special is Carne Adovada with potatoes, beans and a homemade tortilla. The plate was delicious! The red chili is on the spicy side so chili sensitive people... More

My husband and I went to Duran's with very high expectations based on previous reviews. The environment was so interesting and fun! The pharmacy shop had the most unique items and we spent lots of time just browsing and laughing. The restaurant is also unique in that it maintains the look and feel of a 50's soda fountain/lunch counter. The... More

After playing a tennis match my husband and I went to Duran's for lunch. He ordered the huevos rancheros and got the eggs cooked just right and both red and green chile (Xmas). He got a homemade, just rolled tortilla with the plate and it was just perfect. I begged for a piece of tortilla and it tasted just like... More

If I could just have one big fluffy tortilla it would be the one from Duran's. Homemade and the best. Their chili is great.

Service was brisk here and it seems to be all locals as the waitress seemed to know everyone. I got the blue corn enchilada plate and my friend ordered the huevos rancheros with a hamburger patty on the side. Needless to say we got it Christmas-style, which meant smothered in red and green chile sauce. This was our first New... More
