I only learned about Giovanni's in the past few months through an online article. I'm still kicking myself for not discovering it sooner. The owner is originally from Italy via Brooklyn and now in Albuquerque, NM. NYC being one of my favorite places to go, I can tell you Giovanni's pizza rivals anything you'll find there. It retains the look... More

I eat lunch here regularly because their pies are delicious: the closest to New York-style Italian pizza I have tasted in more than 25 years in New Mexico. The plain cheese pizza is perfect: simple and elegant. The slices don't require 50 toppings for taste, just a bit of garlic salt. The slices are thin, cheesy, eminently foldable, slightly greasy,... We stopped here because it was one of the few places that popped up on my phone that wasn't a chain. The pizza was good, perhaps a little greasy, but nothing crazy. The establishment is in a strip center that isn't the most welcoming, but the interior of the restaurant was fine. This place gives the strong impression that not... More

We went here because of an article we saw on HuffPost, and we ordered the New Mexican pizza... we were not disappointed. The pizza itself had a fairly thin crust, but it was done JUST RIGHT. The toppings throuh, mmmm... they were amazing.

While in abq we were looking for a pizza place, we check tripadvisor so choose Giovanni pizza because the 4stars... How sad, we arrived to this little comercial plaza, very ugly one. We went in anyway. You can see the glorious 90' on the memorabilia wall, definitely gone by now... You can see on the photos prosciutto, ricotta, etc on... More

We decided to drive into Albuquerque and try their pizza based on the reviews. What a disappointment! We got a Sicilian Supreme pizza. Lots of cheese, pepperoni and sausage, however, the crust (too thick) and tomato sauce were bland. We were not impressed, especially for the price we paid for this pizza. Good customer service but the pizza was average.... More

There is nothing special about this pizza joint! The Sicilian pizza is overpriced, and crust is an overrated adaptation of what a true Sicilian pizza should taste. The cheese and sauces are average. The Spinach, and Pesto were too salty. My overall assessment is below average!

Stopped here this afternoon, kind of by accident, although I had read a bag of mixed reviews about the place and had been intending to locate it and to try it out. Zagat highly recommends it. They really do have the best pizza I've had in abq. Authentic New York style pizza, the best I've had since in New York.... More
