Authentic Food

What a wonderful hole in the wall. Great food. Chicken enchiladas to die for, juevos rancheros by IV! Great bar too. Wait staff is long timers and family. Check ahead since not open all the time.

Breakfast at perea's is not to be missed in ABQ. Substantial portions, red and green chile done simply but smoky and ample but not overwhelming heat. Lovely servers and speedy service. Not open for dinner, but that's ok. This is a breakfast place that makes chain restaurants pale in comparison

The staff were very friendly and seated me right away for lunch. The guacamole salad was fresh and slightly garlicky...a surprise for guacamole but tasty. The rest of the meal left much to be desired. Cheese enchiladas with a red sauce. Be prepared that the sauce is spicy, not too much for me because I like spicy foods. The sauce... More

When we walked in to find a line waiting to be seated, we knew this little locally owned joint was worth our stop as we passed through Albuquerque. Just about a mile off highway 40, it was convenient for our traveling family. And it was well worth spending a few more minutes when compared to typical travel food! I had... More

Authentic New Mexico food at exceptionally reasonable prices--have followed Perea's to three locations over the years and found the food to be consistently delicious at each one. Absolutely favorite place for breakfast or lunch when in Albuquerque--and open on Sunday, too!

Their huevos rancheros were some of the best I've had. The chili is spicy...both red and green as I asked for both. The place is only open for breakfast and lunch and offers little in terms of any atmosphere. The waitress was friendly and efficient, so that combined with good food and reasonable prices made it a worthwhile stop.

We had lunch at Perea's on a Sunday and everything was really great. Food is tasty, high quality and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Nothing fancy about this place but if you want good New Mexican food that is a cut above the local fast food fare this is well worth the visit.

"the bar" to the locals! Great old dive bar and restaurant. Very homey. Great food and help staff which is all family.

Great little spot for New Mexican-style breakfasts. Nothing fancy, very plain (but nice) and small on the inside. Service was quick (though it was mostly empty when we were there) and the food was really good and cheap. Chorizo was really good and so was my wife's breakfast burrito. Definitely recommend this place for a simple traditional or New Mexican... More

Genuine New Mexican food! This place is small but they are so fast. Our food came out piping hot and the red and green chili was tasty and just spicy enough. Can't wait to go back for lunch because the breakfast was soooooo good! Great customer service to top off the awesome food too :)
