This place is great I loved it.

About 10-15. Mins from downtown but worth the drive and it's all freeway anyway so its quick. Perea's is as local as it gets. It's just a little cafe but spotless and family run. The granddaughter was at the cash register and grandma was serving food. The food is classic New Mexican and... read more

So, I have to start this review by saying that I am not a connoisseur of New Mexico style green chile. I live in Pueblo, CO where the green chile is more gravy-like because it is roux-based. This is what I am accustomed to, but I am branching out and Perea's was recommended, so I thought I'd give it a... More

This was my first experience with an authentic New Mexican breakfast. What a treat it was. This place deserves all the rave reviews. Totally unpretentious with such attentive service, I loved every bite of my eggs, has browns and chile (as a first time visitor, I had to try both the green and red). Oh to have a place even... The huevos rancheros are just perfect! The hash browns and whole beans are piled on corn tortillas, then topped with eggs and the whole deal smothered with really, really good green chili and cheese. I guarantee you'll like them if you,re not a misplaced Gringo.

I eat here at least once a week. Best Green Chile in town and I love the real hash browns. Red Chile is great too.

I've been eating at Perea's for over 20 years and don't plan to stop - ever. The green chile is hands down the best. It is hot, spicy and delicious. The eggs and hashbrowns are always cooked to perfection and the tortillas are soft and fluffy. I personally can only review the huevos because that's all I ever eat here.... More

Only made it to Perea's once during my recent visit and it was for breakfast. Huevos Rancheros with the bacon flavored beans is a favorite. My daughter doesn't like them but really do. Ordered a side of carne adovada and it remains the best in ABQ. Only regret that I just got there once. Now I'll be thinking about eating... More

I've visited Perea's multiple times over the past several years, but never really developed into a dedicated fan of the restaurant. My wife and I dropped in for breakfast recently, and my opinion hasn't changed much. I suppose I could describe at length how the dishes we ordered were just average, and how the service was just ok. As I... More

Ordered the beef tacos with refried beans and red chile on the side! Tacos were delicious and the meat was very well seasoned. Chile sauce does have a little spice to it but nothing I couldn't handle (and I'm a wuss when it comes to spicy food). Would definitely recommend for anyone that likes New Mexican food!

I've been eating at Perea's once or twice a week for 3 decades. Seems like they get ticked off at their landlord every few years and decide to move. I've lost count of the moves (7, 8, 9?) but their clientele keeps following them. The reason is obvious - the food. The same family has been running the restaurant as... More
