Sopapillas are worth the visit alone

This place is nothing fancy to look at, that's for sure. The restaurant is part of a rundown strip mall and the inside looks like a cafeteria from the 80s. Still, the service was quick, maybe too quick, but they were in the middle of the lunch rush so I guess I can't blame them. Our server took our... read more

I first dined at Padilla's when I moved to Albq in 1989. It was my constant, my go-to place when I needed New Mex food. Doesn't matter what you order, everything is good. Even though I moved away quite a few years ago Padilla's remains my fave restaurant whenever I visit. Sometimes I dream of eating a meal there.

Met a fellow traveler at El Morro who recommended this place. It was perfect for a late lunch after my son flew in. The food was brought out hot and fast. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The sopapilla with honey was fantastic. Will return and pass along the recommendation!

This restaurant is part of our family tradition now. The food is like being in my childhood kitchen . Everything is so New Mexican comfort food. Each week once or twice a week our family of 3 generations come here.

No trip to Albuquerque is complete without lunch at Padillas. Extremely reasonable prices and consistently great food. I went to Padillas with my Dad when I lived in Albuquerque. My favorite is stacked, blue corn, cheese enchiladas, Christmas style (red & green chile) with an egg over easy. Try it. It's fabulous.

Padilla's Mexican Kitchen has had consistently good New Mexican food for 30 years that I have been eating there. The green Chile is never too hot and rarely too mild. I have loved the salsa for all those years and wish they would bottle it. Try the Carne Adovada (red chile pork) or if you are there on Thursdays only... More

Had dinner here while visiting ABQ . for ballon fiesta. The carne adovada was delicious. Chips and salsa was also tasty. I was so happy to be back in New Mexico and have a wonderful meal with a sopapilla with honey for dessert. Service was wonderful and friendly.

Padilla's is a family-run restaurant off Indian School. I'd never visited before, but it is apparently a local institution in business for more than 20 years. You get that longevity by serving great food to locals who know good Mexican food. It's a small place in a strip mall, but don't let the locale fool you. This is old school... More

Family owned and operated this place is awesome. Nothing fancy but great food. No credit cards accepted but for 9.00 you get blue corn enchiladas, rice beans and its delicious. Lots of locals which is the best recommendation normally. Don't be put off by the run down strip mall. Go on in and enjoy a great meal!
