The Sadie's restaurant on Academy Blvd. N.E., is roomy and pleasant. The staff is attentive, knowledgable about their menu, friendly and courteous. Our meal began with a small guacamole serving, chips and a red salsa chip dip. The guacamole was outstanding. It was not overpowered by seasonings enabling you to taste the avocado's flavor. The red salsa was spicy and... More

Sadie's food is classified by the waitress as New Mexican. The food is excellent and the portions are huge. Our server was Carol and she did a great job keeping up with us. Our beverages were kept topped off and there was no problem getting us little extras like sour cream and limes for the salsa. When it was time to... More

Went there with friends for dinner on a weeknight, were promptly seated. The salsa was very good - probably the best I've had in ABQ. Ordered an enchilada plate with red chile, which was huge - got two meals out of it. The enchiladas were good - meat was decent and the red chile was very good. Only drawback is... More

Best guacamole and margaritas! Guacamole not overpowered by other favors. Green chili cheeseburger, chicken enchiladas and beef brisket tacos were favorites of our large family group. Huge portions and great service. Large, light sopapillas and honey ended a great dinner. Separate checks welcome if staff is notified before ordering.

We went to Sadie's on a Thursday night at 7pm and as I expected we were told we would wait 30-45 minutes. As expected we were directed to the bar to wait, and as expected the waiter in the bar told us we could eat there in the bar and not wait. Which is what we did, it was loud... More

I live in L.A. and I used to live in New Mexico, and of all the New Mexico food I still crave, it's Sadie's that most makes me want to hop a plane to ABQ. The guaco chicken taco plate is the stuff of my dreams. Great tacos, fried potatoes, awesome guac. And the whole thing smothered in green chile.... More

A group of us ate at Sadie’s in Old Town on a busy Friday night and I was really looking forward to it due to recommendations from family. Overall, I think it was a disappointment. Even those in our party who had eaten here previously thought it wasn’t as good as in the past. The salsa and chips included salsa... More

My wife and I ordered the brisket enchilada and stuffed sopapia that were both delicious. We ordered Christmas meaning both green and red chili. I would probably given full stars if they would have added more sauce. I would be remiss if I did not mention the chips and salsa. The salsa had a great taste with a nice kick... More

Visited yet again when my friend from South Carolina was here...she used to live in Albuquerque and was on a quest to eat great New Mexican food while she was here...perfect! I went "red" she went "green"--the chili was great and the food was awesome. Big portions so come hungry. Satisfied her craving for true NM food. Beware--be prepared to... More
