Arrving in Albuquerque at lunch on thanksgiving, we decided to dine with the locals at Frontier. Families, college kids and singles filled this much larger than expected place across from the university. The Frontier Burrito was huge and tasty. We wished for a beer or margarita but had to settle for a diet coke as they don't serve alcohol.

After reading many reviews we decided to try Frontier which apparently is an Albuquerque staple - it has been around for nearly 50 years. Orders are taken at the counter - the line moves along quickly and the food comes up fast as well. I asked about several dishes and the gal behind the register didn't seem to know much... More

If your looking for a bit of nostalgia and inexpensive prices this is the place for you. My favorite part of this restaurant was the patrons. Such a mix of people of all classes, races, and backgrounds enjoying good food the way 'mom use to make it'. Fun place to eat.

We stopped there by chance in our way to Sunport airport. The place is kind of crazy: it is full of all kind of people mingling around. An authentic diner! The food is probably not the best in the world, but certainly really good! We got the chicken enchiladas (they were fantastic) and the breakfast burrito with carne adovada (which... More

My husband has many fond memories here, so we line up with all the locals and sometimes bus loads of tourists. If you time it right, it's nice and quiet, but mostly is happily crowded. The line can be very long but it moves really fast due to the high number of cashiers ready to take orders. You pick up... More

The Frontier is one of the best places to get inexpensive, delicious food--fast. Its efficient service and casual atmosphere are a definite plus. I tell my out-of-town friends that it's the best eating establishment to get a glimpse of the beautiful blend of locals. Its popularity brings in students, professors, and street people. Sundays are filled with after-church families. I... More

Whenever we visit Abq we always plan to have several breakfasts at the Frontier. It's a long standing tradition among locals and you will often see local TV news men and others dining there on Sat or Sun mornings. We always get the breakfast burrito and then smother it with their nice hot green chile salsa from the hot crock... More

We were in town for the balloon festival and ate here twice because it was so good. Great burritos and the cinnamon rolls are a must have.

The place is right across from the University. The people in the restaurant were college students, locals, and out of towners. The cinnamon rolls were fresh, huge, and delicious!

A great food landmark in Albuquerque across from UNM between downtown and Nob Hill. Try the breakfast burrito or western style hash browns with an egg on top. The frontier burger with red or green chile is to die for and have a cinnamon roll for a late night treat!
