Great Lunch Spot

We grabbed a bite to eat for lunch here right after flying into Albuquerque... The service was quick and we really enjoyed eating out on the patio! The food was good and there was a lot of healthy options to choose from!

The Rio Grande Flying Star is consistently good and has a nice atmosphere. We love to sit on the patio and enjoy the amazing NM weather! The outdoor fireplace is a nice treat. Our favorites are the Crave salad, green chili cheeseburger, and the enchiladas the large selection of desserts is quite a bonus. Nothing beats a glass of wine... More

This was a great option for a simpler fare the second night we were in Albuquerque. The menu was varied. I had the fish tacos and they were light and fresh - delicious! Lots of variety and everything was good. The atmosphere was bohemian casual = quite fun!

Great menu including Mexican and Southwestern cuisine. Excellent quality. Top notch desserts. Located on Rio Grande Blvd next to the Bookworks book store (a great place to browse before or after a visit to the Flying Star.

Great place to hang out or meet someone. Prices keep creeping up and the food is ok. Several outstanding dishes but overall the quality has not kept pace with the price. Slice of pie or cake would buy you 2-3 gallons of gas ! To the owners, don't price yourself out of the market

I paid $10 for a coffee and a piece of cake. I was expecting the cake to be mind blowing or at least large for the amount I paid for it. It was neither. It tasted a little on the stale side, and I wasn't horribly impressed. I liked the Mexican latte, but I don't understand why they serve it... More

Not only did I wait forever for a called in order, I wasted $12 on a burger I couldn't eat. I ordered the veggie burger, and I got beef. I'm glad I noticed before eating as I refuse to eat meat and haven't for years. When I called to complain, the GM was very lackadaisical and borderline rude. I now... More

This isn't our first time here. Normally, everything has been very good, which is why we've come back. However, we've also been noticing increasing missteps. For example, tonight, not a particularly busy night, we were in line 20 minutes before giving our order. There were no printed menus to read while waiting, so we had to take turns getting out... Flying Star is one of those chains that is unfailingly good. We've been going to them since they were just Double Rainbow up on the NE side. I have yet to have a bad meal there, and that's been a loooong time. Their Rio Grande location is very pleasant - and in the summer the outdoor patio/petio can't be beat... More

There are an amazing number of fantastic food options in the Albuquerque area, but we keep coming back to the Flying Star over and over again. So many great choices and we can see why they are consistently rated as having the best desserts in the area!
