Go for the soup of the day

Flying Star is super casual, order at the counter and they bring it to you when ready. My soup of the day seemed to take a while to get from pot to bowl to table, but once it go there, it was fabulous and quite filling, which is saying something for me. It's busy and noisy there, so if you... read more

From numerous personal observations, it appears that most folks visit the Star to sit for hours with their Wi-Fi devices while drinking coffee. It's very hard to get a place to sit no matter what time of day. The magazine rack is long gone which was one of the highlights. Tables are scattered about and need a cleaning. There are... More

The Flying Star at the Juan Tabo location is as delicious as the rest of them. They have a very beautiful garden area out back if you want to get away from the high ceilings that seem to echo the loud kitchen noises. I liked the high bar where you can plug in your computer (they have wifi), but I... More

The Flying Star was my choice(yes, we returned!) for our lunch before going to a performance of the Nutcracker. I love the friendly staff and people who take our orders. We stuck with one Buddha bowl (chicken, veggies and brown rice)and grains and greens (kale, cauliflower, raisins, feta cheese, almonds and edamame with a lemon dressing, very tasty). We left... I moved to Albuquerque 4 years ago; this was my first visit to a Flying Star. I am not impressed. This is not a restaurant in any sense of the word, merely an overpriced coffee shop that also serves sandwiches. We were there for a late breakfast. Every patron had a laptop. Considering that there is no service -- you... More

Food was good but the service was spotty. This location is in need of a makeover and the staff some training.

We ordered and shared the organic greens and grains and the Buddha bowl and we enjoyed and were completely satisfied. i saw i salad i might try next time because i'm sure... More

I frequent all of the Flying Star cafes. Love, love the desserts and the atmosphere. One of the best spots in ABQ!

I know Flying Star from when it was Double Rainbow. It has been going downhill for years, but like an old divorced couple who see each other passing in the mall, decided to give it one last try since Relish was backed up. I was with two associates and we all agreed that the food was just awful. They have... More

Over the weekend we ate here twice and purchased desserts to go. Everything was AWESOME! I look forward to going back on a return trip to Albuquerque. The NM turkey green chile sausage was a nice addition to my breakfast. The power hash was amazing!! Huevos rancheros with green chile did not disappoint. The desserts were well thought out, they...
