I frequent all of the Flying Star cafes. Love, love the desserts and the atmosphere. One of the best spots in ABQ!

My review of Flying Star Cafe on Juan Tabo is as follows: I sent the following letter to Flying Star Cafe management the day after my negative experience there. To date, two weeks later, I've received no response whatever: My name is Dave Ring and I am a 67-year-old recent retiree who has lived in the northeast heights of Albuquerque... More

I know Flying Star from when it was Double Rainbow. It has been going downhill for years, but like an old divorced couple who see each other passing in the mall, decided to give it one last try since Relish was backed up. I was with two associates and we all agreed that the food was just awful. They have... More

Over the weekend we ate here twice and purchased desserts to go. Everything was AWESOME! I look forward to going back on a return trip to Albuquerque. The NM turkey green chile sausage was a nice addition to my breakfast. The power hash was amazing!! Huevos rancheros with green chile did not disappoint. The desserts were well thought out, they... Had lunch at this location. The Cobb salad was very good, nice not overly large portion. I think Flying Star is a little overpriced for what it is. The coffee is average. The food and deserts tend to be above average. At noon the parking lot was full I got the last space I could see, but the service was... More

Always excellent, fantastic quality and diverse menu choices, excellent desserts, and super fun atmosphere. This place is always packed, but the service is great. When the weather is nice, the locations with patios are a treat. You can't miss it.

I have visited this establishment several times in the past. Today, I met a friend for breakfast. It was absolutely wonderful.

Chinese Crunch salad is pricey and should have A+ fresh greens. Several times, the greens were brown/wilted. I was told by staff that greens are pre-packaged. If you want healthier tofu on the salad, request it to be sauteed instead of deep fried. Coffee is only average. Wish quality would return as the Juan Tabo location is very convenient for... More

I like Flying Star for coffee, but am put off by their tip jar (which I understand is shared with all employees - even the dishwashers). If employees are paid a full and not a tip-augmented salary Flying Star has no business encouraging patrons to pony up a premium for an already expensive meal.....especially when you have to get your...
