I like Flying Star for coffee, but am put off by their tip jar (which I understand is shared with all employees - even the dishwashers). If employees are paid a full and not a tip-augmented salary Flying Star has no business encouraging patrons to pony up a premium for an already expensive meal.....especially when you have to get your... I've only been here once and it was for dinner. But all the pastries looked so good, it made me wish I was there for breakfast. I ended up ordering the rosemary chicken with risotto and asparagus (I asked for no peas and no feta). It was really good but the rosemary was dried rosemary and got stuck in my... More

Not many places for Breakfast after 12:00 but Flying Star serves it all day along with great baked goods for desert!

I always eat at a Flying Star Café on my visits to Albuquerque. You order your food at the counter and it is delivered to your table. We were lucky on the night we visited as we all get free desserts with our entrees. The carrot cake and maple bread puddings were absolutely delicious. The fish tacos were given the... More

My husband and I love the coffee and baked goods and the big open room with lots of natural light. We also enjoy sitting on the patio. The egg dishes are usually disappointing and I don't like their red chile very much - something about their recipe doesn't please my palate so much. Counter service is very efficient but not... More

There are several Flying Star Cafe's in Albuquerque. All have good food, mainly sandwiches, deserts, some hot meals. Beer and wine. Order your food at the front and find a seat. They all have different architecture, all good. Outside seating available to enjoy the weather and even an area you can sit outside with your dog at most, including this... More

I love frequenting Flying Star for any occasion. I love to go to hang with friends for several hours and enjoy the "bottomless coffee." It's great just to buzz in for a quit bit and to read a magazine while eating a quick lunch. The staff is always friendly and efficient. I love to just get my food and be... More

We were traveling from PHX across country and learned that these restaurants are dog friendly! They had a great patio, with lots of other dogs, and the servers bring the dog water. The food was very good with big portions, although you order at the counter and they deliver to your table.

I am a frequent flyer, but the garden harvest I had last night had plenty of polenta and goat cheese but a pitiful amount of veggies. It's summer and fresh veggies are plentiful and cheap so why the skimpy serving?
