Rude

Never been treated so badly in any restaurant. I went for their lunch buffet which is advertised at $9.00. That was fine until I got to the buffet and most everything was gone, cold or very stale.. When seated they rudely said that the buffet was closing. They usually close at 3:00, it was 2:00... read more

Everything is very good. Pakora is the absolute best. Service great. Pretty décor. So popular in Albuquerque bec one of top two Indian restaurants in Albuquerque. The other is India House. But I think the pakora is much better at Taj Mahal.

We have been visiting Taj Majal for many years and it is our favorite Indian food restaurant in Albuquerque. The Murg Tikka Makhani is delicious. The Chicken Korma is also great - I don't think it's actually listed on the menu but they will make it for you if you ask. Also the Dal Makhani is very tasty. And I... More

We were pressured to order an appetizer immediately despite the fact that very few tables were filled. I was hoping for lamb chops, not lamb chunks. We asked to see the wine menu and decided to order a carafe of the house chardonnay . Our server said he would check to see if they had it. (??????) He came back... More

Too good. From Shyna's warm and friendly greetings to the comfortable seating to the most delicious Indian cuisine, Taj Mahal stands heads above it's fellow Indian restaurants. We love the lamb kofta in a mouth watering, bursting with aromatic flavorful creamy sauce. One bite and you feel transported to another exotic land. The dish is accompanied with basmati rice and... I hsvd been on fstes twice to this restaurant. And I just love it. It is so much larger and atmospheric than the outter building appears. And the wait staff is impeccable. I disagree with the comments about beef in that though Hindus don't eat beef, many other groups in India do. The owner is wonderfully attentive. And last but... More

...so you don't need to eat here. Friendly and nice people but the food, although gets good reviews generally, was vinegary and boring. It was our first time. I ordered a vindaloo style chicken dish. I t wasn't very spicy and there in my bowl was a chunk of quavering fatty grizzle of dark meat "chicken". Gross. I had to... More

First off this is the only "Indian restaurant" i know that serves Beef - this comes from a sacred animal to Indians so you know straight off this is owned and run by New Mexicans that pretend to be Indian. Food was pretty poor quality, lamb was more like old mutton and although portions were huge the food was really... More

Dinner is excellent here. Prices are reasonable. The lunch buffet is quite good (I would say B+ and the cost is a little more than some other Indian buffets in town) Dinners are the best though. Lamb dinners are excellent and there is a lot for the vegetarian also. The wait staff is probably some of the most courteous in... More

I had not been to Taj Majal for a few years but it seemed the perfect place for date night. The wait staff walks you through all of the options and makes great recommendations. The food was amazing and the price is super affordable. You cannot go wrong with anything but you must try the lamb. Delicious!
