Ate here on our way passing through. Service was very friendly and EXCELLENT. The super huevos rancheros and Chile rellenos omelette were both large portions and tasty. Kids cheeseburger was a bit overdone but had real shredded cheddar. Kids hot dog was thoughtfully cut down the center and higher quality meat. Offered with whole milk. Baby changing station available.

Monroe's has been a favorite of mine I visit Albuquerque with folks who want to eat "Mexican" food. They have a good selection of non-Mexican food for those of us who prefer it, and those who've been "dying" for Mexican food enjoy their red and green chili dishes. The menu is straight forward so you don't have to guess what... More

Went to lunch with my friend today. We met at Monroe's on Lomas. I had not eaten at this Monroe's so was pleasantly surprised. Very clean, most especially the floors. The staff is great. Very attentive without hovering. They make sure you are taken care of and are happy. Everyone of the staff came by our table at least once... More

Of the two locations, I'd say the one on Osuna East of San Mateo is better in terms of ambiance - they have a nice side patio in the Summer. But both the Osuna and the Lomas (original) locations have delicious New Mexican food. I love the red and green chile at Monroe's equally (not gluten free). I love their... More

I was in town for a vintage MX race out West of town at the racetrack. Looking for some authentic NM food that the locals would like. I was sent to Monroe's. Great choice. It didn't look so great on the outside but that can be a good sign. At least it wasn't a gussied up chain/franchise joint. Lots of... More

The New Mexican food was tasty and we were given nice portions that were brought in a timely manner. It was not greasy, and tasted freshly prepared. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and the servers were attentive and friendly. Be aware, though, that evidently New Mexico food is hotter than Mexican or TexMex! The salsa was good, but HOT!... When I go visit my in-laws, I know and trust that at least one meal will be at Monroe's. The family has been in ABQ for four generations and this is one of their favorite restaurants. The service is friendly and attentive. The menu selections include all of the New Mexican favorites along with some selections for those who wish... More
