I try to stop at this restaurant every trip I make to ABQ. I have the relleanos which I think are second only to my own, and if I am not that hungry the enchiladas. The name is pretty much anglo, but they sure can make great Mexican food. I like to think I know something about Mexican food having... More

Last night of a national conference that happened to be in my father's hometown, so he recommended Monroe's to a group looking for a local dinner option. Our party included a vegetarian and another person who is gluten-intolerant, and the waiter was cheerfully helpful with the menu choices. The atmosphere is friendly and neighborly, nothing remotely pretentious but the food... More

When we arrived, I noticed a man who had a huge amount of food before him and I thought he ordered a couple of meals. No, that was just one meal with all of the sides. So be ready with a doggy bag, plan to share, or get a smaller plate. Or eat a lot. :) I ordered one enchilada,... More

Read about this place on here and Urbanspoon. Great restaurant with a huge menu! If you can't find something you like on the menu, it's not the restaurants fault! We had a taco salad and a green chile cheeseburger! Big portions! Great, quick service. Will come back again!

That's their motto at Monroe's: "Because we love you." They really do, because they are willing to cater to your needs and, as you become a frequent customer, they memorize your favorite orders and your unique need of food substitutions. They always remembered that I have celiac disease, and they made their enchiladas and quesadillas with blue corn tortillas. YUMMY!... More

Close to downtown Monroe's is a great little place to eat. Fast service, great food and friendly staff. Really enjoyed my meal. It is a Mexican food place but they have American choices and steaks too. Prices are very reasonable. Loved it and will visit again.

This establishment isn't fancy at all, but the food is flavorful and authentic. I ate here with 3 friends and everyone was pleased with their meal. The service was good. When you want great New Mexican cuisine think of Monroe's.

We ate here before catching a flight and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and service. Not the best Mexican food I've ever eaten, but well priced.

met an old classmate there for dinner, at her suggestion--we started out on the patio, but had to retreat indoors due to a sudden rain shower--staff hustled us in and re-seated us--service was un-intterupted and seamless--the food is as good or better than any of the other mexican food restaurants in albuquerque, and I have eaten in lots of them!... We were there on a Sunday for lunch and figured we'd have to wait - the parking lot was full. But inside, it's really a fairly large place and we were seated right away. We had one waiter, but it seemed like everyone was there to make sure the water was filled and the chips and salsa were replenished right... More
