Using trip advisor found the place. When we walked in the wait staff was great showing us the different sauce they use. Must try the crane adovada on anything. When ever I am in town I will eat here.

Very casual, but the food is amazing. Fresh, full of flavor, and plenty of it. I had the chicken fajita quesadilla. Wow! Great way to have a fajita and a quesadilla together. My sister had the fish tacos filled with nice portions of fish and other wonderful flavors.

While I am new to New Mexican style Mexican food, it was a treat to eat a healthy, reasonably proportioned, delicious, well presented and served meal. This is an anecdote to franchise-style greasy, cheesy, sour cream-laced, over-sized Americanized versions of Mexican food. My meal was tasty, authentic, and overall, just right. Service was prompt and courteous. There are several vegetarian... More

We were looking for stuffed sopapillas as several of our party love them. We were not disappointed by Monroe's. We sat in the lovely courtyard and enjoyed their wonderful chips and salsa, plus stuffed sopapillas, tacos, enchiladas, and chile relleno. All was so good as was the service. Also reasonably priced.

Had an extremely good experience at Monroe's on Lomas in Albuquerque. The food was excellent, the restaurant was spotless clean. But the highlight was the staff. I don't think I have ever had such good service. Your table is supported by all the staff, not just one waiter. So they make sure you know to ask anyone you see if... More

We were not disappointed. The waitress helped us decide on our food and even brought out some samplers to allow us to try the different chili's they offered. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding and we will return.

It was our last night in Albuquerque and our dear friend took us to Monroe's. He knew we couldn't go wrong! My husband had tamales and chimichangas and I had the chile rellenos platter. It was certainly NOT the prefab from the freezer kind! I could taste the freshly roasted Hatch green chili. Good menu, plenty of seating, a little... More

We went here because it was close to our hotel and came highly recommended from family. I had one chile relleno with green chile and one carne adovada enchilada with red chile. I was happy to be able to build my own platter. Both were very good. I decided against ordering a cup of posole but would like to try... More

Monroe's is an Albuquerque favorite. The red chili is the best there is and is now sold in most grocery stores. We went there today because the "Chili Bowl" closed its downtown restaurant. The variety is excellent and they offer a large gluten free menu. The green chili cheese burger was excellent and so was the sopapilla burger with sweet... More

Our daughter had recommended Monroe's when she went through Albuquerque a few months before. My husband and I had the Indian tacos - his beef and mine chicken. The dish hit the spot for both of us as we had been driving all day and were tired. Not a fancy place, but very family-friendly and the service was wonderful!
