Best Albuquerque restaurant of 1980

There's nothing really _wrong_ with the Cooperage, it's just not great...and you can do so much better for just a little more money. The place is often full, though, so a lot of folks clearly still like it. Standard steak/potato/salad bar place with a late Seventies/early Eighties vibe. It doesn't... read more

We came to the Cooperage as a change of pace. I ordered the soup and salad bar. My wife didn't want to because she didn't think she would like the cream of asparagus with bacon soup. The server talked her into it. She was so happy he did. She loved the soup. We bith liked the salad bar. We left... More

I think I've become accustomed to the upscale burger restaurants with "gourmet" toppings like goat cheese, etc., and sweet potato fries. Here my cheese burger had a single slice of American cheese and cold starchy steak fries. I know that hamburgers aren't their "claim to fame", but I was very underwhelmed. On the plus side, the Cooperage does have eclectic... More

my relatives got the turkey dinner. turkey looked chopped formed, dressing looked like cat food. salad was so, so but plates nor silverware looked clean. the tea was ice less and left a horrible taste in my mouth. price of special was 21.99 and pie was $5 extra. old and not clean. do yourself a favor and never go there.

Always a good choice. Not outrageously expensive, reasonably short lunch menu, good service. I'll be back!

I took my wife to the Cooperage for her 60th birthday. They have a great salad bar and except for their steaks being a little too thick was always worth the money. This night was the exception. Unfortunately it wasn't just us two; my brother, daughter and her boyfriend were also there. The bill came to $121.00 + tip. The... More

A steak/seafood house of many years ago remains a good quality dinner, but a bit on the pricey side. This restaurant has changed little other than the price in at least 30 years. It's survival demonstrates that it is successful, but it could be much more. A very solid salad bar with home made soups comes with each entree. Steaks... More

A tradition in ABQ serving delicious prime rib. Although the furnishings and decor may be faded, the ambience of days gone by are still there, as well as the food. Also, their prices have not skyrocketed as most restaurants in ABQ have.

Who says you can't travel back in time? The Cooperage recalls a time when "dining out" meant a visit to a wood-paneled, dark room full of ample-size customers demolishing large, tasty beefsteaks. Forget the rest of the menu, the Cooperage is about prime rib and steaks. Large, prepared to precisely your ordered doneness, and tasty, Cooperage beef is some of... More

My family and I love eating here when we are in town. Cooperage has a great salad bar and steaks! Often times they have a band playing. It isn't like a chain restaurant nor is it fancy and blingy, but good food and good service! We have been coming here for about 20 years and always have a good experience!
