I've never written a review, but for India Kitchen I feel compelled. I think of this place as one of Albuquerque's little secrets. Their food (I'm partial to the curry and vindaloo) is nothing short of superb. The combing of the seasonings approaches some kind of perfection. By itself, their willingness to alter recipes to individual taste is endearing. Meat... More

Following Tripadvisor customer reviews, we and another couple went to India Kitchen with high expectations. My wife and I were largely disappointed. Our friends professed satisfaction. First, on the ambiance – there wasn’t much. The room is on the dingy side, neither well lit nor “romantic.” We began with samosas, which were fine, but when I tried to order an... More

I almost gave out on Indian cuisine here in ABQ until a friend introduced me to this restaurant. I ordered lamb curry and it is delicious. The portion is appropriate, not too small nor huge. My friends have chicken vindaloo and they loved it even if it was spicy. I will definitely go back and try their vegetarian dishes. Service... More

The service here is good as the owners seem to take care of the customers directly. Food was ok quality. Not mind blowing Indian food. However, for Albuquerque this is a gem! As there are not many other options for Indian food in this area.

Went there on Easter Sunday with girlfriends parents. Food was a bit different but plenty of choices. Water glasses were refilled constantly. Not a bad place. Dont remember the value since the tab was paid by someone else.

This is the best East Indian food around. We've been going here since it opened over 20 years ago. Haven't found any to compare here or out of town. Love the atmosphere- small, quiet and welcoming. Don't miss this one!

My husband and I have been dining at India Kitchen for 16 years. The owners, Ajay and Rajul Gupta, are wonderful, caring people, and the restaurant is cozy and homey. We always feel welcome and very comfortable there. They will accommodate just about any special diet and always cook no fat/no salt for us. You might think that would affect... More

Food was good but for the price you dont get a lot.. I think some of the dishes are using Patak sauces rather than home made only because they are selling chutney in jars which are old patak jars and lids ? The samosa are excellent and the nan are different than the normal nan... great atmosphere most probably the... More

The food wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. The place is nice inside - it was really busy when we went but the service was excellent. I really liked how they had a large selection of hot teas (not something you typically see at Indian restaurants). The menu was large with great looking selections, however, the food was really... There was a terrible smell in the place.....it truly interferred with the taste of the food. It smelled like Pine Sol, which no Indian restaurant should. I was looking for Malay Kofta which they do not have. :( Cheaply decorated as well.
