Just OK

The service was really slow (Tuesday night) and there was only one waiter and a host trying to help. I used to go here years ago at the old location and it was excellent. This time the food took a really long time. The shrimp with Jamaican sauce was what I remembered and very good. My partner's... read more

Have not been to this restaurant since it was at its old location on a side street north of central. After tonight's meal I will not be back again. My husband and I had a rare bit of alone time later in the evening and rather than fight the crowds decided to give it a try. The hostess was pleasant... More

Went here for a family gathering and was curious to try it. It started fairly well enough with a friendly server to seat us and take drinks. The first hiccup came through in taking at least 15 minutes for just waters to come. Thought it would pass and then it took forever for her to come back and take our... More

20 minutes for a cup of Gumbo- all heat no flavor, 1 shrimp mostly onions and no roux flavor. Great Beer ! Jambalaya, had some nice flavor profile but very very short on chicken and sausage. Bread Pudding- poor execution but sauce was very good, Bourbon Pecan pie, good pie- just about a 18-20 cut very small for the $... More

I really enjoy Cajun food and have eaten it quite a bit. The food here was average, I had frog legs for an appetizer and alligator a la carte. The legs were good and it had a good batter, but the batter fell off. The alligator was decent and I had the Cajun sauce extra hot. It was poet good... More

I discovered Ragin' Shrimp in 1999 when I lived in Albuquerque for a brief time. Since that time when I have a road trip that takes me from Texas to California, I ALWAYS, I MEAN ALWAYS take I-40 thru Albuquerque so I can have a meal here!!! Really, it only adds about 100 miles to my trip. WORTH THE DRIVE!!!... More

After reading about this restaurant and being an experienced fan of Cajun cooking and food, our comfort food, we looked this place up. parking lot small and cramped. Had to wait to be seated and dining room cramped and dark. Server was polite but slow, however this was with out a doubt the worst food ever cooked. poorly spiced and... More

For a long time I have seen Ragin' Shrimp and wanted to try it. Heaven knows I could use a change from the green chili/red chili sameness of Albuquerque. Well, I tried it and gave myself the treat of a $40 solo lunch. Yes, a $40 lunch in Albuquerque. It was so-so. The breading on the shrimp was heavy, even... More

This is an awesome Cajun restaurant. The menu and specials sound wonderful, but I always get the same thing. Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and one of their yummy sauces. This last time I got the peanut sauce. Hot of course! Outstanding! When they say hot, it's hot! I've also had the Cajun, Jamaican, Cilantro and Lime. There was live... More

A local artist recommended this restaurant as reasonably priced Cajun fare. We enjoyed a nice, quiet meal. Service was very good, gumbo was delicious, good local beer. Would recommend it. Etouffe was pretty spicy.
