Don't let the atmosphere of a bar type restaurant fool you. Oh, sure, you can indulge in a cocktail, but I go for the steaks. Everything is made from scratch, the menu is basic, and the steaks are worth the purchase. They are all a pretty good size, so I generally get the 10 oz rib eye..The baked taters are... More

My wife and I went to MC today for a late lunch. There wasn't a wait but we got the last empty table. People were still coming in. Today is the 40th Anniversary, and after a fantastic lunch of grilled pork chops, accompanied by a nice salad with homemade Blue Cheese dressing, we both had a complimentary piece of anniversary... You couldn't find a more unassuming (unattractive) entrance. It's a package liquor store (in the front) and we had to get past our initial take on it (and trust the recommendation from the proprietor at the Sandia Inn Motel) and go around to the back. The decor is eclectic funk. Old naugahyde booths in a rather cluttered space. But not... More

Walked in through the liquor store entrance to see an inebriated patron being asked to leave "hey, we are trying to run a business here." Made it inside, barely avoiding a collision with the busboy with a stack of dishes above his head and made it to the hostess stand. We were seated right under the Guy Fieri poster in... More

The service here was slow and the food uninspiring. For the price I expected more than a big plop of palin, unseasoned white rice as a side. More

Great food and "old west" atmosphere. Their speciality is steaks but they also feature some very good Greek dishes -- unforturnately not as many as they used to. A tip: if you want wine with dinner, buy a bottle at their adjacent liquor store and bring it to the table -- there is no corkage fee for wine purchased there. More

I decided to try the place based on the DDD show. As other reviewers have stated you can now enter the restaurant part through its own door and not go through the package store. The door is looks like it should be "Exit Only", but it does have a big sign saying it is an entrance for the steak house.... More

Best cuts of meat you will ever have in a dive bar setting. It's worth the trip just to say you did it. More

Celebrating Christmas with family we tried the Monte Carlo for the first time. We found the reviews on TripAdvisor helpfull but not totally current. The main entrance to the restaurant is from the rear, not thru the package store which fronts Central Ave. Wine was delivered to the table by our waitress, we did not have to go into the... More
