The Nexus Brewery is a difficult place to find but is well worth the search. If your looking for Southern fried chicken and cat fish in Albequerque, this is the place to go. What impressed me about the fried food was that it was tasty but not greasy. The Mac and Cheese side dishes were to die for... read more

Nexus Brewery is a bit hard to find, just off I-25 on the east and north side of the Montgomery exit, set back from the frontage road. But it is worth searching out. The rice and beans with sausage is a favorite dish. We love the fried pickles too. And the beer -- always tasty. The Imperial Ale is especially... More

Jeanne! Always great to hear from a regular! The red beans and rice isn't the most popular dish, but I have to say it's one of my favorites, too. Hope to have y'all back soon to kick back on the patio with a couple Imperials. Cheers, Ken More

We ate at Nexus twice on a recent road trip (it's next door to the motel where we stayed). Both times the place was crowded but we only had to wait on Friday night. However, a nice lounge was available and the wait was not as long as anticipated. We had the fried fish which was delicious. Service was efficient... More

Hi, Mary. I have to say I'm a little confused by your 1-star rating after you said the food was delicious and the service was efficient. Please let me know if there's anything you didn't mention that we could improve on. All the best, Ken More

Grateful for reviewers who mentioned it was tricky to find. Persist as it's worth it. Two got the gumbo. I regretted not getting it cause the sample I had was greatness! I got the green chili chicken which wasn't a traditional NM version but nice and spicy. 14 year old wanted to get pork sandwich but hesitant about spice so... More

Looking forward to having you back in 2016 -- I'm thrilled that you're already planning to make us a regular stop! Hope to hear from you again after you get the gumbo next year (seems like a safe prediction). Safe travels to you and the family! Cheers, Ken More

They were super accommodating when our group of 12 showed up. I shared the 8 beer sampler and loved 'em all. The blackberry Hefeweitzen was unusually good. We shared nachos and a sampler platter of fried veggies. My chicken and waffles was very tasty, although I wish I had seen the option for the corn bread waffle option that others... More

Hey, Steve. Glad we were able to take care of you guys! You didn't get to try the corn bread waffles, so that's a great excuse to make it back. Hope we get to see you and yours again sometime! Have a safe trip back to WA. Cheers, Ken More

Visited here in Nov 2014 and enjoyed the beer, but felt the lunch items were more fast food than bar quality. Visited again today for late lunch and again thoroughly enjoyed the berrs. The IPA and Red ales are superb. As a brewery this is a must try. However, the food is too much like fast food at a take... More

This Southwest/Soulfood fusion restaurant was new to me. My husband wanted to try it while we were in Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta, so I went with it. The Scottish Red Ale was excellent. And my husband is still talking about the bacon and green chile macaroni and cheese. Seriously. He's still talking about it. It's been months. The wait... More

I've been there twice and the food is great but. I went there last night and had to wait 45 minutes just to get some service. I witnessed 3 couples that couldn't wait any longer and just got up and left! Like I said I think the food is great along with the beer. But I think you should re... More

Jeremy, I apologize that the service just wasn't cutting. Did this happen on Saturday? If it did I am sorry, we had a rush on Saturday we just did not anticipate, it was like a Saturday in the summer which has not happened for weeks. I want to assure you that this isn't the norm for us. Thanks for letting... More

Must try the chicken and waffles! I heard the brewskis were good too! Wish I had room to sample other menu items cause the red beans and rice looked awesome!

There's always next time, Lathaniel! The Red Beans & Rice are a must, so there's an excellent excuse to make it back to ABQ right there. Thanks for your compliments, and we hope you had a great trip! Cheers, Ken More

Heard lots of good things about the place from friends as I visited Albuquerque so checked it out. Ended up with the red beans and rice and a side order of okra. And a couple of excellent beers! Okra was just right, red beans and rice were tangy without being overly hot, and the service was excellent. I can see... More
