My friends and I were in Albuquerque for the Balloon Festival and went here on the recommendation of the desk clerk at the Best Western right next door. In fact, we liked it so much we went on Friday night and back again on Saturday. I had the fish tacos Friday and they were great - grilled, well-seasoned fish and... More

I'm glad we were able to impress a Midwesterner with our food, even if it was a little odd for you to see chicken and waffles together! The fried chicken and cracklin' cornbread waffle are both excellent choices, and I'm happy to hear they hit the spot for you. Thanks for giving our place a try while you were visiting... More

Check out this spot tucked into the back of an business park off I-25. Within walking distance of Best Western Hotel. Staff very friendly and good beer with excellent Southern Soul Food Classics, (i.e. Chicken & Waffles, Red Beans & Rice, Catfish, Fried Okra). I would go again!

Great to know that you'd return if given the chance, Tim. Hopefully we'll get that opportunity next time you're on this side of the country. Thanks again for joining us for some brews and a meal! Cheers, Ken More

Some of the better craft beer in Albuquerque. The Scotch beers in particular. Known for the crispy chicken and waffles, the fish is just something special. It is not the usual white fish served in most places. It's very sweet and light and they do it in lightly seasoned cornmeal. I had it alone but we plan to return for... More

We didn't know what to expect because we've never had a combination of a brewery and soul food. The beer was great and so was the food. The fish they use is a Vietnamese catfish and it's absolutely delicious. The Cajun seasoning adds to the flavor. The food has a bit of a "bite" of spiciness to it which we... More

Thanks for joining us when you were in from Phoenix! I'll be sure to pass your compliments about the fried pickles on to the kitchen. Think of us next time you're this far east! Cheers, Ken More

The beer was nothing special, but the food was fine. We would go back for the chicken and waffles, but not the gumbo.

Thanks for letting me know what you liked and didn't like! I love that our signature dish hit the spot, but I would have wanted to have done the same with the beer and gumbo as well. Happy to have your feedback. Until next time, Ken More

Saw this place on DDD so we had to try it. Had the fish tacos and the fried okra appetizer. Kids loved the chicken and waffles. Beer was pretty average.

Thanks for joining us all the way from Kansas, Michelle! Sounds like you enjoyed the food, but I wish the beer had complemented it better for you -- sorry to hear you thought it was just average, but I appreciate you letting me know. Safe travels to you and yours! Cheers, Ken More

i stopped here for dinner tonight. I have eaten here on multiple occasions and always like the Scotch Beer and the Fried Chicken. The food was good as always, but unknown to me they were having standup comedy night in the area I was seated. I left as the "show" if you can call it that started. I was abused... More

Sorry you were taken aback by the show, Hal. I'm sure the comics didn't intend to make you uncomfortable! We want people to feel free to come and go, so I appreciate you speaking up about this. I'll be sure to talk to the host. Hope to see you again, Ken More

I don't drink beer, but my husband thoroughly enjoyed their Scottish Ale. We both loved the (southern style) food. Specifically, I enjoyed the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and the collard greens; all were authentic and yummy. I took half of mine home and it was almost as good, reheated, as it was when it was delivered fresh from the kitchen.... More

I stopped here once for a beer a long time ago. Decided to go here on National Cheeseburger Day for a green chile cheeseburger and some microbrews. Nexus makes good beers--not the best in Albuquerque--but better than a number of our other brewpubs. I tried the IPA and the Scottish ale and both were worth drinking. The cheeseburgers are large... No better day to come out and see us than National Cheeseburger Day! Glad you thought to stop by for a bite and a brew -- thanks for letting us know how everything was. It sounds like our Green Chile Cheeseburger didn't disappoint, although we're sorry to hear you weren't all too impressed with the bun. Hopefully our Beer Battered... More

We're out of towners who keep coming back. We can't pass through Albuquerque without stopping in, so it's high time I gave them a review. The beers are top notch, though I tend to mostly have the IPA and Scottish ale. I have sampled several of the others, and they're true to their type. I just can't say enough about... More

I'm pumped to hear that we're a must whenever you come through town! Considering that you've tried fish tacos from coast to coast, I'm honored to know that ours are your favorite. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to cook and pour for you on the next visit! Cheers, Ken More
