The food is locally grown, organic and the chef is astounding. The atmosphere is simple but lovely. You can tell it is a favorite for many locals. Beer and wine prices are a little high. I'd have additional options if i were them.

Three course meal, fresh greens, Roasted beets, Lamb chops with roasted potatoes &crispy Kale chips. Wine list very good and affordable. Had the 2010 Luigi Righetti, ‘Capitel de Roari’, Amarone della Valpolicella, Nice surprises on wine list. Hands down one of the best meals between ABQ & San Francisco. Great open kitchen and very friendly service. Relaxed and casual vibe... More

It's always a treat when we eat here. Jennifer has long been Albuquerque's crown jewel of a chef and she is still firing on all cylinders. Our duck was simply delicious and the service is always perfect.

Not sure where the folks ate that left the couple of negative reviews (or where they are accustomed to dining), but I found Jennifer James 101 absolutely delightful. Loved the deviled eggs, watermelon salad, and tomato salad - interesting flavors and fresh. I enjoyed a perfectly prepared Halibut as my entree and it was delicious. Service was impeccable. This is... More

This place has a lot of hoopla and not much to support it really. The decor was ok, the service acceptable. But my duck was chewy and basically had little flavor. And to serve it with peaches did not make much sense to me. Maybe the other dishes are better but I have no urge to go back. And it's... More

Well noted as one of Albuquerque's finest restaurants, Jennifer James 101 was a huge disappointment for me. I took a friend and we both had terrible food, preparation lacking and just plain not edible. We did not eat everything and we did not take it with us. The friend had the buffalo steak, tough and not even seasoned well. Everyone... More

The food at JJ101 is superb. Pure, simple, almost zen; locally sourced, bright. That said, in spite of excellent service, comfortable setting, and a noise level that allows for conversation, I can´t bring myself to give it five stars. Every single detail of the food (apps: chick pea fritters, beets w. horseradish, crab salad on fresh pea blinis and pea... More

I have nothing but rave reviews for the food. I went with the lamb chops that were so good I threw manners out the window and nibbled the stray pieces that clung to the bone clean off. Luckily other customers in the restaurant went caveman for every last bite too. I have never had lamb chops this good. The yogurt... More

When asked to review local restaurants, I felt that I had to put in a word about JJ101. We enjoy everything about this place from the delicate pickles that start every meal to the final luscious bite of dessert. Jennifer and Nellie are an amazing team, working in view of the tables and doing their thing. The first courses range... More

We were able to get a table on a Friday night due to a cancellation. View of the (calm) open kitchen watching JJ herself cooking. Started with the chickpea fries and octopus salad, both delicious. The best, chewiest sourdough bread ever with salted butter, oh my!! (Only ding is the guy at first brought us the last bits of bread... More
