Can't even begin to say all the good things about this restaurant. I just love this restaurant. We always have delicious food, love the atmosphere and the people working there. We always have a great time when we dine there. Wonderfully diverse menu, something for everyone. Love the décor, very chic. Prices reasonable, food delish, staff wonderful.

I can't say enough about this locally owned restaurant in the historic Old Towne section of Petersburg. If you've ever eaten at this establishment, then you have met the owner, Russ. I can't count how many times I've been to the Bistro. From lunches with a friend, to parties with organizations of 25+ people and consistently the Bistro handles them... More

My experience suggests that a metropolitan population of around 50,000 is necessary to sustain a fine dining establishment. There are smaller cities which enjoy fine dining success, but they tend to be in college towns, tourist havens and the like. I was drawn by the reviews in the hopes of finding a hidden gem of fine dining. Such was not... More

As a "pescetarian" (someone who eats fish, but not beef or chicken), selecting a restaurant can be challenging. After viewing what menus were available online, we decided try The Bistro. The place itself is open and airy, with an eccentric blend of decor and mix-matched furniture. The staff, who were friendly and attentive, served us in a timely, professional manner.... More

We ate here late on an August evening, based on the TA reviews and weren't disappointed. The crab soup and bread were very good and we enjoyed our crab cakes. The eclectic interior design, with all the lighting and mirrors made the restaurant very pretty after dark. The well-spoken young waiter who served us was very accommodating to our requests.... More

My in-laws were visiting from out of state and wanted to try a good local spot for dinner. I chose The Bistro because of the TA reviews. My family and I showed up and it didn't appear to be anyone else dining there. We were also unsure what door to use to enter, we were instructed by a sloppy, cigarette... More

Absolutely wonderful. We got the soup special (crab soup) and I wished I had gotten the bowl instead of the cup. I had the farmers sandwich with a side salad and everything was great. My kids were able to half the hamburgers and fruit and they both finished there plate. Would definitely come here again when we visit Virginia.

Who thought visiting a 1930's era gas station building in old town Petersburg would be so much fun. Food was hot, delicious and tasty. Service was fantastic. Great find.

Went there because of a Groupon. Beautiful, elegantly decorated dining room. Friendly, attentive service. Food to die for. I had something called Crab Cake Napoleon. It was wonderful-- crab cake on a marinated portabello mushroom with bearnaise and asparagus. Heavenly! We will go there again!
