Quaint restaurant

The wait staff is friendly. The decor is like a colonial pub with 21 century items thrown in. Even though I have dined there several times, I have not been impressed with the food. There is a bar-appetizer section while you wait. Parking is across the alley way. The building was in the movie... read more

From the website and tripadvisor, this restaurant gets rave reviews. I have to disagree. Being from England, I have experience Shepherds pie, fish & chips and bangers & mash. Between 4 of us, the above covers our orders. My Shepherds pie was the worst I have had while dining out. Mashed potatoes layered over the filling without any further grilling... More

As soon as I saw this restaurant's website, I put the address in my GPS. They have an excellent website, by the way - the history section is fascinating. My husband and I celebrated a birthday dinner here. Our waiter was very knowledgeable in helping us make our dinner and drink choices, and we were not disappointed. Excellent food prepared... More

Wife and I spent a late afternoon having lunch and then junking at some of the downtown stores in old town Petersburg yesterday. Had a great lunch at The Brickhouse Run. I had their oyster soup to start and it was one of the best bowls of soup I've had in long time. Oyster base with spinach and a ton... More

If you find yourself in Petersburg VA, this is a great option. Located in the historic district in a civil war era building it has a fun, vibrant atmosphere and very tasty food at reasonable prices. The menu is varied, with traditional pub fare including...Shepard's Pie, Bangers & Mash, Pub Burger as well as a variety of more traditional entrees...steak,... More

Let me start out by saying I live in a Mecca of wonderful southern cuisine that I judge all food against. This place is really nice they were very busy with big tables so we were the forgotten ones. I would come back but I wouldn't get the winter salad that I ordered. My husband liked his ribeye steak but... More

This is the first restaurant I ate at when I first visited Old Town Petersburg. My wife and I met another couple there for a night out and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the evening. We started with an appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes. Now, I'm from the south and love FGTs, but this place took them to a... More

Had dinner here with some friends while visiting in the area. The food was great, four people, four different entree's and each was prepared to perfection. The service was excellent and the waiter had a great personality and made the evening memorable. Each of the four desserts we selected was also very good.

Leaving Richmond headed home, and realized how hungry we were. And knowing that Petersburg had a bunch of really nice restaurants in Olde Towne, we figured we'd try one little place off the main drag. The Brickhouse Run did not disappoint. Friendly staff, great selection of beers, and an appetizer list that hit the spot in mid afternoon.
