This is hands down the best BBQ you will ever eat. For those that don't appreciate true 'pit-cooked' BBQ you may not agree with me. Their sauce is vinegar based as opposed to those sweet/sugary thick sauces. I also highly recommend the onion rings, they are fresh and flakey, nothing frozen here. The pies are awesome and the prices are... More

We went here for our family dinner. We got there at 6:28 and only received disgusting sweet tea, two orders of burned onion rings, and an incompetent waiter who talked quieter than Marion Ramsey in the Police Academy movies. He was horrible no redeeming point. We had a table that was sat in his section beside us get there 30... More

King's has been around forever--that's because they make super Southern bbq. Love the hush puppies and cole slaw as well.

This is the tangiest BBQ Virginia sauce that I have ever tasted. It is worth a drive. The sauce is sold by the bottle and is good for dipping bread in. This is definitely must on any BBQ aficionado’s list.

A trip to Colonial Heights to pick up some kitchen items ended with us discovering King's Barbecue. We were hooked when we got out of the car and were engulfed in the barbecue aroma. Inside the folks are gracious and friendly. It's a simple setting as I've discovered the best barbecue places are. No frills! Our young and enthusiastic waitress... More

King's has been around forever and isn't as good today as it was in its hay day. The BBQ sauce is ok. Richmond's Sauer BBQ sauce is far superior. Our pulled pork was moist and decent. The baked beans were pork and beans without any indication of something done to them other than placed over heat. The slaw dressing was... More

Can I give this place zero stars? What these people do to a pork butt is a travesty. Tasteless, no smoke, dry and way overcooked. What are the locals thinking supporting this place? Listen up folks: If you want good pulled pork, go to Old Town and pick up some takeout from Saucy's. Now those people know how to do... More

I was born and raised in the Petersburg area, and have lived all across the USA, and sampled the Que everywhere I went! Nothing beats Kings sliced Pork (with a little outside meat), delicious Cole Slaw and the best biscuits you ever tasted! I know they have excellent beef and fried Chicken also, but I'm a Pork kinda guy! I... More

Pork was ok, tater salad and beans were not distinguishable. Beef was flavored well but my sandwich was mashed like a 3 day old moon pie. (From cutting) Their sauce was fair and prices were good. Bbq is so much about region and acceptance. They obviously love it in Petersburg but it wasn't for me.

I went there and got their medium beef, which was sliced thin and melted in my mouth. Also had the sweet potato fries that are like sweet potato pie without a crust. As good as I remembered and had not been here since 1999 but staff remembered me. They also do pork and many other BBQ dishes. totally terrific and... More
