It wasn't my cup of tea, but my husband is very, very Southern and he loved it. I'm talking old school Southern. I'm all about some sweet tea and okra, but this is kind of like 1950's farm recipes. I guess if that's your thing than you'll appreciate it. I did like the decor and the staff was very friendly.

Our host's father insisted on having breakfast at The Dixie...what a delight! From the delicious made from scratch food to the beautiful restoration, eating here is a culinary joy. Met all the key people...the couple who are the gracious owners, the accommodating waitstaff and Bob, longtime employee who is an absolute jewel. Dixie must have had a dozen owners since... More

As authentic as it gets made from scratch southern food. I don't think I have ever left a place as thoroughly satisfied as I am after eating here. Food is simply the best you will find and the prices are so cheap you almost feel like you are taking advantage of the place. Service was impeccable and friendly. Our waitress... More

We only went here for coffee and sat at the counter, but from the menu and seeing what other customers were being served made me wish we had come for breakfast. But, it was crowded and had a line to get in by the time we left. This is one we gotta try on the next visit.

I wouldn't recommend this place for the food...a lot of pre-packaged food being served as homemade. The service was great and the food was hot, other than that nothing special!

I appreciate that you took the time to review the Dixie and found the service to be good and the food to be hot but as the owner I could not let your inaccurate statement – “I wouldn't recommend this place for the food...a lot of pre-packaged food being served as homemade” – go unaddressed because it is simply untrue.... I mistakenly got the chili omelette and it was disgustingly greasy. Another person in my party choose the odd combo of collard and eggs and boy, was it good! And I say this as a person who barely like collards.

This little restaurant is adorable...and the owners are delightful. Stopped in for lunch and the service was perfect. The menu has a wide variety of items to order. The breakfast specials looked great although we had lunch. Prices are reasonable. If you're in the area it's worth the stop.
