Southern hospitality and good food

Entered at the end of a crowded lunchtime. Our table for 7 was ready in no time and everyone was so pleasant. Just really good food filled us all up so, while the desserts were incredibly tempting, we could not fit it in! I had the burger with pimento cheese. The cheese was much thicker than I... read more

Me and my partner was looking forward to trying this restaurant for the first time. We eggs over were never greeted as we can in, we sat at the first available booth. Our waitress came over and got our drink orders. She came back approximately 10 minutes later for our food order. We wanted over 30 minutes to get our... More

Stopped in with 7 after a morning of touring the local battlefield museums. Short wait for a table large enough but that was expected and not an issue for us. The group ate a variety of burgers and sandwiches, as well as the meatloaf from the specials menu. Throw in some pickle fries, pickled cukes and onions, and drinks all... More

Stopped in town to see a friend. He took me over to Dixie for lunch. Great feel to the place, old down home. The way old family run places used to be. Service was fabulous and the food simple and GOOD! I'd go part next time I'm near town!

We heard about this restaurant when inquiring where our favorite waitress from another establishment had gone and, despite being lifelong residents of the area, had somehow missed it. After visiting, I wish we had heard of it sooner. Dixie, located in the heart of Old Town, has authentic decor (complete with a bar with stools) and pressed ceiling which lends... More

Everything about this place was awesome! I ate there on Sunday as part of a large group of people associated with a major community event. The staff was well prepared and were ready to rock when we showed up. The food was phenomenal. The atmosphere was really cool too. It was totally old school but in a good way. The... More

The food was homemade southern comfort food. We had baked chicken and chicken & dumplings. Our granddaughter had a hamburger. All were above our expectations. The chicken & dumplings reminded me of my grandmother's chicken & dumplings. We split a banana pudding for dessert. The people are very personable and the prices are more than reasonable. Thank you for an... More
