Fantastic barbecue!

We had been to the walk-up location several times, and just went for the first time to "Saucy's Sit-Down," which recently opened adjacent to the walk-up. It offers table service after 5 p.m., and before that you can buy food at the walk-up location and bring it inside if you want to sit down. In... read more

Saucys must do a lot right; they have expanded from walk-up to restaurant and have won a ton of awards. But the night we visited, our ribs were tough and under-cooked. As someone who likes ribs falling off the bone, I found this to be a terrible disappointment. I also thought the prices were too high (small sides of potato... More

We wound up at this restaurant while passing through and could not afford the 30 minute wait at our original choice. Things happen for a reason. I like my BBQ. Many restaurants are heavy on the sauce, not here. This was a close to competition que that I have come across at a restaurant. The rub used on the ribs... More

I've been hearing about Saucy's for a while, and we got an invite to join some family members there for dinner one night so experience what all the hoopla is about. We went to Saucy's Sit-Down - nice place to get delicious food and beverage. They have a bar and a good number of tables for table service. Everyone there... More

I like this spot in Petersburg - I've been going for a few years now. The food is good, reasonably priced, and the "container" has no seating... but a new INDOOR location allows for seating at lunch-time, so grab your food and go inside to eat. BTW, I absolutely love their cole slaw and potato salad.

We have enjoyed the walk up unit for years. We had the chance to enjoy the brick and mortar location with family. The addition of craft beer on draft was great with dinner. The sampler was perfect for everyone to try chicken and BBQ. We were surprised to see only one dessert on the menu. After ordering and enjoying the... More

I find it disappointing to go try a place I hear so many good things about only to be let down. Tried the ribs, they were tasty, (by far not the best I have ever had) and very fatty. I watched the server put my ribs in a microwave and heat them up. Made me wonder how long they had... More

The newly-opened Saucy's Sit-down has a cool atmosphere, good beer, friendly service and excellent barbecue pork ribs. I'm a hearty eater and a half-rack was more than enough for me. I had small portions of coleslaw and beans on the side. Both were very tasty. The beans included white, kidney and green beans, and the coleslaw had an interesting, herby... More

We have been to the new restaurant a couple of times now and it's great. There is a good beer selection and the place has a funky feel. We have had their BBQ and ribs....excellent, love the sweet tangy sauce. It is not NC sauce and definitely not the normal cole slaw so many folks expect. Saucy's puts their own... More
