Be prepared to use/practice your Spanish if you come here for some of their delicious Mexican food. The menu is exclusively in Spanish and the staff that was there when we ate only spoke Spanish. The food was very well done. My favorite item was a special soup (I think that was its name "sopa especial"). We liked everything we... More

The food was fresh and very flavorful. We had tacos for the most part, and figured out that at .99 each, you need to order at least a plate of six to make a meal. They are small, just two or three bites each, but no problem there... we just ordered more. It had a very "local" feel and it... More

I visited this place because I thought it would be something similar to the one in Matamoros Tamps. Mexico, which is the border town of Brownsville, boy was I wrong, the tacos were not good at all, the tortillas used for our tacos were expired I guess because they had a funny taste to it plus they weren't warm/hot, to... We were in Brownsville on business for a few days and three of us headed for the FedEx Kinko's on the North Expressway in a mad rush from the airport, but very hungry. Just as we approached the shopping center with the FedEx location we looked over to the right and saw Ultimo Taco. Wow! It was like a lightning... More

Great place for late night dining option in Brownsville. Felt like I was in Mexico. The menu is in Spanish but you can figure it out pretty quick. 2 plates of tacos & 2 sodas cost around $12.50 for 2 people. You can't beat that. The service was fast. The waitress was nice and friendly. I definitely recommend this place... More

They have a variety of meats and the tacos are very good, although a little greasy. The charro beans are tasty. The place is small and always crowded.

You are insulting yourself more than the restaurant. Everyone knows ultimo taco has been rated number 1 taco joint in Brownsville for a reason, simply because they are the best. And cockroahces? Really? HAHA! They always maintain a clean environment, warm food, clean restrooms which not even national food chains maintain those types of duties. And not to mention Ultimo... More

You were probably sent by the competitor ( Mr.Taco) you are totally wrong about trashing this place. There is a reason why this place won BEST TAQUIERIA two years in a row 2011 and 2012...at least put one negative thing at a time, not 10. By looking at your profile it seems was only created to trash the place. This... More

Heavy high school hang out, tacos are tasty but small. Pretty much need a 10 count for lunch. Service is rather non existent, prices are cheap. Worth a stop as it's by far one of the better taco huts in the area

Aside that the order was cold as my refrigerator, the owner overcharged me by $25, after i told him it was wrong he got all defensive and started giving really bad service, then double charged my debit card, their is hair on food and cockroaches... go to Mr. taco instead... not recommended, he then went back all mad and charged...
