Great local food at good price

Good food at good price and quick and efficient service. Good mexican and American food. Been around since 1934 I believe and has local history and pictures on the walls.

Four of us had lunch and all meal were delicious. The chicken fajita sald was fresh, the chicken tender and the homemade tortilla chips crunchy. One friend had the basa fish and the sauces was wonderful. Mary Lou and Daisy took the time to help us with the area and Dan, the owner, chatted with us. Everyone was very friendly.

The Vermilion is a great local restaurant. I prefer restaurants that are not part of a chain. This place is a local watering hole with fine food. The wait staff is efficient and fast. My group of 9 people was served quickly and our food came out promptly.

I went to the Vermillion today and ordered the Fajita Plate special...I hadn't visited in a while but always remembered this restaurant because it was where the "locals" went to eat and enjoy a couple beers! They are known for their nachos! But, today, I enjoyed the beef fajita plate. The charro beans were excellent tasting. This is the kind... More

I live in Dallas, and love coming to Brownsville for the food! The Vermillion is one of my favorite restaurants. Their mexican food is my favorite.. you can't go wrong with any of it. The nachos always look amazing, but haven't tried them bc I always get the same thing. I get the enchiladas every single time, and they never... More

Vermillion is a proven staple in the heart of Brownsville for so many years. I've been here a handful of times with no regrets only a happy feeling I leave each and every time. Thank you so much for the great food.

Love the fajita nacho delux and the Pancho Villa plate. Big menu. It's all good. This is where the locals go.

Every time I go to Vermilions, I have a great time. I mostly stick to appetizers, because I'm enjoying a nice cold beer. Their ceviche is the best I've ever had. And the nachos are delicious.

It was really disappointing. We came here for dinner. It had such great reviews that we figured what could go wrong. Well everything. Our waiter barely stopped by to get our order and then never came back to check how the food was or even to get another drink. We got the steak and it was way overcooked. We asked... More
