We arrived at 7pm on a weeknight while waiting for the local hospital ICU to accept visitors. There was only one or two other tables occupied. We had a limited time and appetite with plenty of cash to spend. We wanted a glass of wine, appetizers and soup ie. a light meal. The wait staff informed us that the chef... More

The food was pretty good, but at over $30 an entree, I expected something outstanding and this restaurant did not really deliver. I had a filet mignon, which was pretty good but not great, and my SO had a lemon sole, which was also pretty good but not outstanding. I usually don't pay that much attention to the restaurant decor,... More

We were celebrating mutual anniversaries with friends. The menu is mainly a chalkboard one that varies from day to day. When they run out of an item, they cross it off. I had a grouper in pepper sauce with risotto and baby vegetables. It was outstanding. My wife had the crab cakes which were loaded with lump crab meat. I... More

Our family road trip brought us to Brownsville, TX for two days. Couldn't agree on where to eat, so just looked up restaurants in Brownsville, and Cafe Shiraz came up as #1 rated restaurant in town. Went there not knowing what to expect, other than that it was a Mediterranean cuisine. Cafe Shiraz turned out to be an art fair,... More

Highly recommended. The Chef greeted out table and explain the menu entrees for the day from the black board. Service was good.

If you want to have a mediterranean experience, come to Shiraz, reservations is highly recommended, the service is great, Chef Nuri will do anything you ask for, but not the mexican traditional cuisine, the rack of lamb with original mint is awsome. A little bit over price for the area, but that whats making it better, you will see people... More

Chef Nuri is serious about food and wine. Since he ran a wine shop in Berlin , no surprise. The specials are where the action is. Wherever he sources his food, he only serves the best. Costly and worth it.

We have traveled quite a bit and love to try fine food. We aways end up measuring all our dining experiences by the Cafe Shiraz standard. None compare to the best kept secret in our area. It is an absolute must for those who appreciate quality food prepared by a brilliant chef.
