Whenever I’m in Corpus, this is my go to place for chicken tikka, extra spicy. My wife loves their gyro sandwich. Tender calamari, good dolmas, Turkish coffee- who could ask for more? From South Asian to Greek food, the food is delicious and service is...good.More
Update 10/31/23 They join the ever growing list of greedy restaurants who think they are entitled to a tip for pickups. I haven't eaten the food, how are you getting a tip? You haven't served me, cleaned up after me, refilled my drink... how are...you entitled to a tip. Unfortunately they know when you place the order whether you have tipped or not... it's almost like a bribe. They changed part of my order, claiming they don't have lamb chops. Or is it a bit of f*ck you because I didn't tip?? Damn! I'm glad I didn't tip. They got the order completely wrong. No extra lamb chop, No Kibbeh, No potato wedges, white meat chicken was not white. Absolute garbage. Curry went straight in the trash and they refuse to give me a refund for the missing items.More
The absolute best food we have had in years, 3 non vegan people and 1 vegan ate soo much, it was all great! The french fries were amazing, tried the regular fries and waffle sweet potato fries, I had chicken sofrito, wonderful with yogurt sauce...with chicken, my son had Santa Fe chicken, we had the combo platter with a little of everything for an appetizer, vegan Dad had Dolmas which were wonderful, and samosas, my daughter had Kefta which was so yummy, like a Greek hamburger? And pistaccio Baklava which was so buttery. Will come back soon!More
Having only lived in Corpus Christi a little while, we are still trying out new restaurants. Although there are a plethora of chain restaurants, we seem to seek out the small owner restaurants. This one was a big surprise for us! We had the sampler...appetizer plate that would have sufficed for a whole meal almost and everything on it was outstanding for us! On top of that we had the chicken tiki with Masala sauce and loved it. We will definitly be going back!More
Called my order in w French fries. Picked up no way that was the size pattie they advertised, only small piece of lettuce, one sour pickle, no tomato, no onions, French fries were cold and bun was stale it was advertised as fresh baked bun...no way. I’ll never order anything from there. This was take out of course ! Cost me $15.00 plus tip not worth $2.00!More
Had my birthday lunch there with my daughter and teenage grandson. They were down for Austin and they like this place better than anywhere there. Our experience was definitely enhanced by the excellent service provided by Jennifer. She went all out to ensure we had...a memorable occasion. She is so knowledgeable about the entries and works to accommodate our preferences it is amazing. My daughter is a vegan (no problem with this menu) and I have couple of food allergies and Jennifer took it all into account with her recommendations. Even gave us samples of some items. And I got a baklava with a candle for desert. I eat here often and consider it a regular part of my eating out plans.More
Amazing food! Extremely impressed by the baba ghanoush, very fresh and not turning brown like I see at low Qaulity restaurants. Also the saag paneer was delicious . Definitely a place to go out of your way for if you love Mediterranean and Indian style...food .More
Tucked a bit out of the way is the Ginger Cafe. I read several reviews before going here and a couple weren't favorable but we tried it anyway. You will NOT be sorry going to this restaurant!! The food was some of the most amazing...I've had anywhere. Wait. I know you're asking yourself is this the same guy who rarely provides great ratings on Trip Advisor? Yup. One in the same. I give out poor ratings when they're deserved and the same on the high end. I had the chicken tandoori masala and it was out of this world. The spices were perfect as well as the masala. I only wish I had more. Interestingly... I've not had a lot of Mediterranean or Indian food and I'd planned to get a gyro. So glad I changed my plan. My wife ordered the gyro salad and that was fabulous too. Large portions of gyro meat and the tzatziki sauce with both our meals was perfect. I want to pack this place up and bring it back to Minnesota. YOU MUST EAT HERE!!More
The location is kind of hidden, but they have doubtless the best Mediterranean menu in town! The prices are reasonable and the quality is top notch. It is a quiet place at lunch where you can have a conversation.
I hate writing bad reviews--it is not the reason I go out to eat--but sometimes the restaurant leaves one no choice. I ordered the gyro platter to go. It came with a large side of yellow rice, three strips of sliced lamb, 1/2 of a...small pita bread, and a minuscule amount of tomato and onion. There was also a small container of tzatziki sauce. The rice was dry and obviously microwaved straight out of a package. The lamb was barely acceptable; the tzatziki had no discernible flavor, it was eating straight mayo; the tiny pita bread would not have covered an A cup. This was supposed to be the gyro platter and I didn't even have the material to make a single sandwich out of it! The meal I received was small, tasteless, uninspired. It was the level of quality and presentation I would expect from an elementary school cafeteria only at 3X the price. I went to the botanical gardens to eat lunch and I should have driven right back down the road and demanded a refund. Maybe I hit them on a bad day at a bad time. Not only do I not like writing bad reviews, I don't like judging a place based upon one experience. Nevertheless my experience was so bad that I cannot recommended this restaurant and I won't be coming back.More
The reviews are definitely right. Best Mediterranean food I’ve had in Texas and pretty close to being some of the best in the country. We also tried the Indian and were very pleased as well. The service was awesome too, which in many places recently...is not the case. Definitely check them out for a great meal!More
When I got here the waitress said they have the best gyros in Corpus. She was wrong, they have the best gyros I’ve ever had! The meat was tender and juicy and the tzatziki was the absolute best. Highly recommend!
Our son took us to dinner tonight and we fell in love with the Ginger Cafe and Grill. There were six of us and we had different meals but three of us had the lamb shanks. We all enjoyed them immensely. In fact, they were...to die for. And our server, Zack was one of the most gracious and friendly people we've encountered. A truly delightful experienceMore
Terrible experience. We waited for almost an hour after our designated pick up time for our take out order. Once we finally sat down to eat, what we ordered and paid for wasn’t there! Don’t go there. Save your money, time and effort.
