Wonderful old world style bakery well worth going out for. The location on mapquest is too far south on san padre island dr (22). When turning south off of hwy 361 it is on your right hand side before the next stop. Light (white cap). It is an weathered lighter aqua building with distinctive angular front.

Stopped by coincident in this bakery and we bought some homemade bread (pumpernickel and french bread). If I wasn't diabetic I would of bought many of delicious looking pastry. All the pastries look so so good. I will definitely go again to buy some of the cookies for my grand kids. If they were to start making some diabetic friendly... More

The owners had their wood burning oven shipped here from Germany to bake their breads. Desserts change daily and are made fresh every night. It is worth the trip no matter from how far away you are. They serve German style breakfast and lunch.

I felt like I was in my moms kitchen, again. The owners a wonderful people, and The food is great. I would recomend their strudel, all of them, and breads, keash, oh how about all of their products. Just a great honest business.

we have been here several times for breakfast. They have fabulous pastries. We also buy ice here which is only$1 a bag, cheapest on the island. My main complaints are that it lacks ambience, isn't very clean, and there aren't many healthy diabetic friendly choices. Come here if you want to splurge

Some of the best fresh baked breads and pastries I've had in a ling time. We went there with friends, bought breads to go with wine and cheese, great selection. We went back next day for breakfast - nothing fancy, food good, but not memorable. We did go back a third day and get a bunch of pastries for breakfast... More

We stopped here for breakfast and to buy from the bakery for a snack later in the day. We had a wonderful breakfast and the staff were great! We watched as they put a load of fresh bread dough in the ovens that came from Germany! Wow can they ever bake a lot of bread at a time! That was... More

I like to eat where the locals go. Staff was super friendly to me and patient with answering my questions. Love the enthusiasm they had for their food and describing it for me.I'm Not too familiar with german pastries or the food other than the basic, very basic. Good coffee and the patisseries were delish. Took some home to my... More

First, a bakery -- and the goods are VERY good. Some heavy and not-too-sweet sweets, what one would expect of German baked goods. The Bee Sting pastry is to die for. Lunch and brunch items available at reasonable cost.
