Authentic German Food

This is a fairly inexpensive cafeteria style restaurant. The food is pretty simple but super and German. The owners and some of the employees are native Germans. There is a deli and small grocery area for imported European delights. This is a wonderful place for lunch or dinner.

If you are looking for a place to eat downtown and you want something different, head to Siegfried's Deli. Their goulash and spaetzle is fantastic as is their Red cabbage! You go in their hungry and you leave their stuffed but it's so worth it. It's a must!

I don't know how this restaurant puts out such a fantastic array of German food for such low prices. The daily special was $6.99 and came with two German sides. The plate was enough for two to share. And, the strudfle, wow!!!! Delicious ! The location is central and I can't brag enough about the authentic blood. There is ample... More

Locate is great, only a block from the Convention Center. This is small establishment with maybe 6 or so tables and a counter against the front window. The space available and the lay out gave it a very "New York" kind of feel, and it is on the dingy side. We visited on a Saturday lunch and it was very... More

Had lunch at Siegfried's. Had the two sausage combo... a bratwurst and weisswurst with German potato salad and red cabbage. The sausages were awesome, really good flavor. The German potato salad was a little strange...the potatoes were sliced very thin and didn't hold together at all. Most German potato salad I have had has either been cubes or thicker slices.... My husband and I come here for lunch about every 6 weeks. I spent many years living in Germany and grew to love the food. I like the wiener schnitzel, the bratwurst, the spetzle, and sauerkraut. At Christmas, it is filled with all kinds of German goodies; I like the rum stolen. Siegfried's is funky and ugly but the people... More

Yes, it's tight on seating (especially in the evening), but what a great meal. Tremendous amount of food for the money. I had a huge serving of Wiener schnitzel (made with a pork cutlet, not veal), red cabbage, and spaetzle with gravy -- that and a fountain drink cost a little over $11, I almost couldn't lift the try! Came... More

German food the red cabbage is awesome and the cucumber tomatoe salad taste like my mom made it. It is affordable a quick. Sometimes hard to find a seat because it's packed. U can buy from little store German pickles and all sorts of yummy stuff. If u r from Europe u should try this place because u can find... More

Probably one of the better places for German cuisine, still far from amazing. Very cantine like, ugly and cheap. Not to.mention the crowds because of the store inside.

I have been coming here since I was a little girl with my parents. My dad is from Germany and I grew up not on Utah casseroles, but on the amazing recipes from my fathers family. We would shop for the wonderful variety of meats and cheeses and take them home. When my son returned from a church mission in... More
