One of my favorite restaurants in Salt Lake is Aristos. Amazing high end Greek food served in a relaxing atmosphere right of the campus of the University of Utah on 1300 East. My wife and I love to go there for a romantic night out. I suggest going on a summer night and sitting outside. They do take reservations which... More

We sat outside on their patio (inside seating is much more formal). Limited vegetarian/ vegan choices - it is Greek... (we were suspicious of their use of butter when claiming vegan). I ordered the soup, some rice, and chicken. It was tasty, but I should have ordered something more exciting (my fault). We felt that it was expensive. Located at... More

Wow! Best food I've eaten out in nearly a year! Lamb tacos were amazing! Lamb shank fabulous! We even got daring and tried the octopus....which, too, was surprisingly delicious. EVERYTHING was packed with flavor! Very casual atmosphere, but the food we ate was far from ordinary. A definite must!

Get your wallet ready for a good experience and pretty waitresses. The souvlaki were excellent. The plates however are quite tiny.

Awful experience, ridiculously tiny and overpriced plates. Dips are $7 each for what amounts to the content of 1 tablespoon!! Are you selling gold or food Aristo's!? This used to be a great place with great portions, but it seems previous good reviews went up to the head of the owners who now think they can charge anything, well they're... More

Never thought I'd say this about a restaurant in the US - portions stingy. Everything an add-on. Bread to go with soup - $5 - limp and claggy. Wine by the glass $8.50 and sour. Waiter surly - I think he wanted to go home! No wonder hardly anyone in the restaurant. Disappointing as in fact food flavourful.

This place was fairly upscale which I did not expect near the university. I was not creative and got a gyro. It was good but standard like a side of the road place. The taziki (sp) was ok but not bold. The tomatoes and onions were ok. We got Kafteri as an appetizer which was quite good. The service was... More

The baklava here has terrific flavor. The tzatziki was delicious. The grape leaves were alright and the stuffed veggies were very good. Ouzo candies are given with the check. Server was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Free street parking on Saturdays, valet available.

Aristo's delivers great Greek delicacies: from sumptuous grilled octopus, savory fried smelt, and delicious taramasalata, to classic entrees like whole whitefish (prepared tableside), pastitsio, and breaded chicken with spinach. From traditional baklava to orange-soaked semolina cakes, the desserts, paired with robust Greek coffee, are worth the wait. Ouzo and a respectable wine selection help set off the flavors of the... Enter Aristos. Authentic Greek food. The owners are Greek. Many of the waiters are Greek or Turkish. That means lots of seafood and lamb and eggplants. I would encourage you to order the grilled octopus. Done to perfection. Fried smelts. Village salad. Not Greek salad. Grilled whole fish (with head on). And of course, Grilled lamb or lamb shank.
