We had dinner here while on a very short trip to SLC. It's a loud, friendly environment that was filled with a wide variety of people - families, University students, people going to the theatre. The food was very good - not necessarily super, but very good. We had a slice of chocolate cake that was so huge it hung... More

Good place to take your student within 10 minutes of the dorms and in the same shopping center as Dan's Supermarket. The menu was large enough to have something for everyone. The service was prompt and courteous. The food was excellent.

Very casual atmosphere, TV with sports if you want that area, expensive $10 drinks but delicious specialties like the margarita with a hint of mint I think. I had southwest turkey burger, plenty of peppers and a little kick, with fries (potato and sweet potato) husband had the lamb shank and loved it. Super nice server and plensant atmosphere. Wished... Wow! What a disappointment! The hostess was GREAT, friendly and funny. The atmosphere "seemed" quaint and fun. And then it was all downhill from there! Food was mediocre (lamb sandwich, and lamb quesadilla). Beer selection was fair at best (with menu listings out of date, and signs in bar out of date). Service was quick, but impersonable, rushed, and condesending.... More

The food was pretty good but a little pricey. I enjoyed the fish and chips and Guinness and my sister had the Salmon Salad. The service was great. We were there for an early lunch so they were not very busy.

The food was great, big variety, and satisfied very diverse tastes, of adults and kids. Lots of fancy comfort foods, beautifully presented and very tasty. We were there for lunch and we there was only one other table occupied. Supposedly it gets busy in the evenings.

I recently visited MacCools with my father and my daughter. We were seated by the "fireplace", which was surprisingly a chilly area. The cold stone table did not help. Our unsmiling server was not especially knowledgeable about the beers. Therefore it took us a while to decide, seemingly to his dismay. After everything was ordered, my Irish father went around... I live in Salt Lake City and enjoy coming to MacCool's in Foothill Village for a reliable bite and draught Guinness. I would especially recommend the tossed salmon salad and the lamb ribs. There is a separate bar area that is great to watch sports and meet friends. The pub works great for kids too as the staff is accommodating... More

The prices were a bit high for the offerings. The wild game shepherd's pie touted by the waitress did not have much meat in it, though the flavor was good. The quinoa served with the Citrus Chicken dish was greasy. Not a great evening out for a date, but might be ok place for a beer and a bite with... More

The tip amount was changed on my bill I guess it was to low but the bad service deserved it. They would not change it later when I confronted them even though the receipt total did not agree.
