I came here knowing that Cafe Rio is much loved in the SLC area. I should have done my research as I found out while waiting in line that my lunch was going to be lettuce, grilled chicken, and guac. Nothing else. As I tried to explain my order to the service people, they did not understand and kept adding... More

The food is always fresh. It's fun to watch your meal made right in front of you. We always get our food to go because the restaurant is usually crowded and can be noisy.

Everyone is crazy about this place. I get it. It is affordable and fresh. But the number of kids here can be crazy. The quality of the food is good, but it isn't the 'raves' that people give it. And I have NEVER been crazy about the service. Out of towners enjoy it. It is efficient. And I'll go back.... More

A good place to pick up (or dine-in) fresh Mexican food. Unless you go at a busy time, you can be in and out very quickly. Very flexible about sauces on the side.

Great food, atmosphere is not the best, it's always noisy and there is usually screaming screaming kids in there! Better to get it and go

2nd time using Cafe Rio to cater lunch for a SLC client. Phone process is efficient and professional as is the follow up email and payment communication the day of delivery. The food arrives on time and is hot, fresh and visually pleasing. After having sampled most of their catering menu, I can say you can't really go wrong with... More

This is really popular with locals. Now open on Sundays. Salads are big enough to share. The Barbacoa is tasty - and unique (and sweet). Service is fast and friendly

I'm not a big Mexican food lover but occasionally I'll tempt myself to try it again as I did last week when transferring through the Salt Lake City Airport. And I was glad I did. Cafe Rio is located in the food court between the C and D concourse next to McDonald's and a Greek take out restaurant. The line... More

I've traveled many times over the years through the Salt Lake City, Utah airport and while you can get a great burger there at Smashburger and dark chocolate turtles at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory, for my money, the hands down best place to pick up a meal to sit down to or even take on your plane is Cafe...
