Living in Salt Lake City makes it easy to visit one of the best places in town for a relaxing meal in a great setting. The Porcupine Grill is located at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and is staffed by friendly people serving great food. The portions are plenty so don't be concerned about getting cheated. One of the specials on the night we went was breaded pork loin with mashed potatoes and veggies. It was excellent. Nicely breaded and baked and you get two large pieces. Masked potatoes were very good and so were the veggies. Also had the creme brulee for dessert and it was very good. The Porcupine has always come thru for... More

We were there during Octoberfest. They had genuine German fare that my husband seemed to like. Other than that, typical pub food. Very busy atmosphere.

This place seems to be an institution in the SLC Valley. No matter what night of the week it is always busy. Has a great setting and "vibe" food and service also always very good and a nice selection of beers. The porch has an amazing view of the valley!

We had just arrived and checked in at our hotel, and decided to walk up Big Cottonwood for a meal. We were seated right away inside, but it was a bit loud (a lot of happy conversations and music), so we asked for a deck table and were gladly moved outside to a quieter table, with a bit of a... I went there and got a burger. It was not what I expected it was kind of sour. The soup was really good and the staff was nice.

Came here the first day of our arrival (after flying in from NY). We were very hungry and just wanted good food. Well, that is exactly what we got. The service was great. I had salmon and my husband had ribs. We liked it so much, we came back again while on our trip.

This is a popular location for apres-skiers in the season, so be prepared to eat early of wait for a table. Once in, both beer and food menus are extensive and varied, the servers are attentive and have accurate memories (none of them wrote down our orders but got them 100% correct), and the food is hearty and excellent. This... More

I am a fan of the Nachos - because it's piled high and enough to feed 5-6 people to full. My other favorite there is the Ahi Salad because of the incredible and fabulous Wasabi vinaigrette dressing - I always ask for extra. The other dressing I'm obsessed with is the Lime Chipotle - I always ask for extra of... More

Ordered the apricot hefeweizen. Tastes just like Ithaca's apricot wheat beer. Still delicious. Only $4 for a pint Food was delicious and wait wasn't too bad. Ordered a burrito which was massive. The flatbread pizza was better than I expected. It was bare with a few vegetables. But it also included a bowl of roasted tomatoes and tons of goat... More
