The Blue Plate Diner gave off a warm glow like a scene from a Lee Child novel inviting and familiar, sunlight through the kitchen window on a new day. Jack ordered coffee and she smiled at him as if he were the first bright thing she saw that morning. Breakfast of a hollandaise omelet was served with American fries hot... more

I love the Blue Plate. I've had the pancakes and club sandwich and I'm looking forward to the rest of the menu. Definitely different than most places in Salt Lake, but that's a good thing. Portions are large and you will get your moneys worth. more

The Blue Plate is a throw back to times gone by. Its a 50's diner with a gothic twist. The food was great, the service was good, and our waitress was nice in her on special way. Do not leave without a milkshake, these taste like the ones from my childhood. This place is worth the drive if you are... more

They have horrible service and worse food. I've had multiple bad experiences, each time hoping a neighborhood restaurant would be better. Their reputation based on being cool and nothing else. more

The staff at the Marriott downtown suggested I make the drive here from our hotel. Well worth it. I felt like I was back in college and indeed I almost was. The restaurant has a very informal setting with old signs, postcards and mementos, but don't let that fool you. The food was great, the service was right and the... more

We are big fans of the Blue Plate ... for breakfast. In fact, I gave it a full five stars for our New Year's Day breakfast there earlier this year. We found ourselves in Sugarhouse for an evening and thought we would give it a try for dinner. It was OK, but nothing as special as the breakast - a... more

My nephew had the 'chicken fried steak' it is some of the best tasting chicken fried in the valley and we've tried chicken fried steak at several places. The gravy is a white smooth gravy, and the... more

We watch the Food Channel and saw this place spotlighted on "Diners, Drive-in's, and Dives. It is on the way to Park City from the SLC airport so we decided to try it. I am on the road over 150 days per year and here is what I think: Thumbs up. The staff was very friendly. The food was above... more

I went here for breakfast on the recommendation of a friend and enjoyed it. But as soon as we walked in we were greeted by a less than friendly waitress. I know their job is tough, I am a waiter myself, but the service from all of the staff was not good! They wanted us to get in and get... more

After viewing the incredible reviews of this diner, we decided to try it out while traveling through Utah this summer. I tried to overlook the deadbugs on the window sills and the grimy bathrooms and focus on the food. I had the hot turkey sandwich, the gravy was inedible (extremely salty), the mash potatoes had basil in it that tasted... more
