Oyster Bar Always Lives Up to Expectations

This is one of the few (and I mean few) places in Utah to enjoy fresh seafood. It's always presented well, cooked to taste, and with accompaniments that are very nice, the bonus being chowder that's always excellent. Oyster bar and its companion seafood restaurant Market Street Grill are an... read more

Several things wrong with this dinner. First, I was traveling from out of town. I called and made a reservation for Saturday night at 7:30PM for a party of two. When we arrived they did not have our reservation. We ended up sitting in the bar area. Second, our waiter was very awkward. He was nice, but uncomfortable. Third, I... More

We eat here instead of the Market Street Grill, which is next door and has the same menu, because we like the atmosphere. The Oyster Bar has fun decor and great food. Our family of four had a little bit of everything - soup, bread, fried shrimp, battered fish and grilled fish. All was served hot and perfectly cooked. This... More

Finding a restaurant in SLC that is open after 10pm is no easy feat. I made a reservation for 3 on a Friday evening and was very happy with the choice. We arrived around 9:45 and were seated immediately. The waitress was very accommodating and friendly. We were among the last customers, but never felt rushed. The seafood offerings were... More

Dined at the bar with a colleague and spread out experience out over about 2.5 hours. Started with cocktails which were well done with top shelf bourbon. Had a sample of 4 oysters that were available that night as well as half pound of shrimp cocktail. Locally made sourdough bread was fantastic as was the clam chowder and seared ahi... More

I ate here along with five other coworkers for lunch. The service was slow for a lunch crowd that wasn't very busy. The waitress dropped two soft drinks on us and seemed distracted. She had to be reminded to replace them. Also no manager came over to apologize which was surprising for a restaurant of this caliber. The food was... More

Came here alone and sat at the bar. The bartender was not engaging, did not offer recommendations when asked, and it appeared that he wanted to be somewhere else. I ordered a club soda with a splash of cranberry. There was a ton of cranberry juice - not what I ordered. He did not reappear to get it corrected. I... More

in a landlocked state I normally do not eat at seafood places. However, based on a recommendation on the fact that they fly seafood in daily, I gave it a try. Was not disappointed either. Had a great meal of shrimp and scallops. Yum....really wanted some oysters but just didn't have the room. We were lucky as we had no... More

As a group we ordered the Blue Point Oysters, Maryland Lump Crab Cakes, Clam Chowder, and the Hawaiian Ahi Tuna. I enjoyed all of it, but some in group thought the Clam Chowder was average and should've been in a bread bowl. Everyone thought the Ahi Tuna was exceptional (cooked in a ginger soy sauce). Add in a few carafes... More
