My daughter (9) and I recently dined at The Roof after wondering around Temple Square during the Holiday season. The Roof is on the 10th floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and offers amazing views of The Temple and surrounding area. I found the buffet to be limited but everything that is offered are the items you'd choose in... More

Food selection is just average, My personal preference is Chuck-A -Rama. Hands down just for the amazing view of temple square, and dessert section is again worth every penny. Try going there when the Christmas lights are out. That makes up for another splendid view irrespective of the occasion.

The buffet was laden with food, so it was impossible to try it all. Everything I had was very tasty, but some of the hot dishes (even those just put out) were lukewarm. The drinks are all non alcoholic, but that wasn't a problem. The view over the Temple at night is just magical.

The view is lovely and we were seated at a window table at sunset. The buffet is plentiful and we certainly couldn't try everything. There were items that I wanted to get to but just couldn't. The onion soup was disappointing but most other choices were fine. The shrimp on the cold buffet was good. We get shrimp very often... More

Situated at the top of the west wing of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, The Roof restaurant offers stunning views of the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Temple Square, City Creek and stretching west towards the Great Salt Lake. Those evening views are even lovelier during the holiday season - downtown Salt Lake City is dressed to the nines with a... More

I love the desserts and the views, only wish I could have a coffee with my meal. The pianist are always so amazing and they offer such a great buffet spread. Top it with rolls from the lion house and it is nearly perfect.

Wether or not you are LDS and of course afford the price 50$, I think it's worth the time, accommodations and service provided, the quality of the food is good ***they don't serve alcohol*** but other than that it's a nice place to enjoy a nice evening If only they could serve wine at least would be even better

In Salt Lake City for a convention recently and needed a nice place to gather 20 people over dinner. The Roof Restaurant which is part of a group of Mormon Temple restaurant experiences available in Salt Lake City at Temple Square has a "private" room for 20 so we booked it. When they say 20 maximum, they really mean 20!!... More

We had the buffet. The butter they give you with rolls is sweet (honey butter) which was awful. The rolls are sweet. Blooming onion soup was sweet! The savories are sweet. A lot of pre hype over their desserts....Errr the desserts were average. These kind of desserts are served in most big hotels - so not a big deal really.... More

The food is great. It is buffet but the buffet has an extensive selection and a great dessert selection. The prime rib is slow roasted 15 hours. Yum. However the best thing about this restaurant is the view. Be sure to book a table on the north east side, and be sure to get a table time that is after... More
