While I enjoy the experience of exploring restaurants new to me & particularly ethnic restaurants, one stands out well above the rest & has won my loyalty since it's inception. Saffron Valley, specializing in Southern Indian delights, has 2 very distinct locations, the north end of SLC, Avenues being the one I frequent. Lavonya, the owner, Karnon, head chef &... More

We picked the one rainy day to visit SLC and dropped into the Saffron Valley restaurant for a bite to eat. The buffet is quite extensive and smells wonderful! You have to try and little bit of everything! The staff is quite friendly, though English is not their first language, but they are helpful and hospitable. We went at lunch... More

I went to eat here with some coworkers from India. I figured if they thought it was good, then it must be. It is delicious. I highly recommend it. Very nice atmosphere and very courteous attentive staff. The food is fantastic and there is plenty to choose from. I recommend the Indian Filtered Coffee for after dinner...delicious...

This little restaurant on the Avenues has the best food I have had in a long time! The spices were excellent, portions wonderfully satisfying, garlic naan great, and tandoor paneer kebabs were amazing! The korma was wonderful, the vegetable dosa was great, all of the food was perfectly spiced. Service was fast, excellent and attentive. This restaurant should not be... More

A home away from home experience for me. Had a wholesome " Ghar Ka Khana" (homely Indian food) . Wide choice to pick from and a menu to suit all Indian palates, be it South, North,,East or West. Very good ambience, decor and service. The Poori masala, Three Saag curry, Dosa with accompaniments were delicious.

My wife and I got these guys' mailer ad for June/July, and tried them out last weekend. Great time! Got a table by the window and some time to ourselves (and 20% off our bill with that mailer!). Highly professional waitstaff. Really enjoyed their tone and silent service. They were formal and affirming. Great food. Other folks have noted this.... More

I'm not big on Indian food, but I was very impressed with this new, nearby restaurant. My son had the lamb chops, that were deliciously seasoned! We will be back!

If there is one food I feel I can be a tough critic of - it is Indian/Pakistani food. I had no expectation eating here but I was very very happy and will definitely return. The weekend lunch buffet was extensive and every dish we tasted was delicious. They put out menu items many Indian restaurants gimp out on (ie.... More

What can I say. Excellent Indian, reasonable prices. There is an interesting array of choices on the menu from different parts of India, but we stuck with some of our favorite tandoori dishes, and they were worthy. Service and atmosphere were also enjoyable. The Naan with sauces appetizer was especially oustanding - hot out of the oven, crisp on the... More

We followed the advice of Salt Lake Magazine (April 2014) who gave an excellent review to this Indian restaurant. This is not deserved. Samosas were mediocre and greasy. The lamb Vindaloo and the chicken Tikka were average. The Masala Dosa and the garlic naan were good. The service was efficient and friendly.
