We went there for the lunch buffet. Everything looked spic and span in the beginning. good location, good setup etc. Then came the food. Almost every dish was bland including the sambar.idly was hard and naan and the spicy chicken were cold and stale. some of dishes had salted over (potato bonda, bhindi etc). Dont know why the manchurian and... More

I have eaten at the lunch buffet several times over the years. It has a great selection that has served different dishes each time. There is a great variety and you find many south Indian foods not commonly found in other Indian buffets. Highly recommend.

Went there for a Sunday lunch buffet. The selection wasn't great, food was cold and now idea what happened to a cook because he salted all the food like it was his last chance to do so.

The restaurant i wish to be in when i come to Salt lake city. Though the food is not much spicy, guess it is tuned for our american friends. But the taste is good and feels like i am in Chennai. Don't miss the unlimited dosa's on Wednesdays ( I guess, not too sure )

Food was very good, service was good and decent enough place. Just don't try and go on a Monday or past 9pm. We enjoyed our visit to Saffron Valley and will go back.

Saffron Valley was recommended by a friend from India. What an intriguing restaurant. Amazing flavors, textures and hues. The chicken tandoori plate was like a colorful work of art. So beautiful. All of the dishes we had were exquisite in appearance and flavor. The Naan & dips, the coconut korma, and the paper thin lentil bread (papadum?) with mint or... More

While I enjoy the experience of exploring restaurants new to me & particularly ethnic restaurants, one stands out well above the rest & has won my loyalty since it's inception. Saffron Valley, specializing in Southern Indian delights, has 2 very distinct locations, the north end of SLC, Avenues being the one I frequent. Lavonya, the owner, Karnon, head chef &... More

We picked the one rainy day to visit SLC and dropped into the Saffron Valley restaurant for a bite to eat. The buffet is quite extensive and smells wonderful! You have to try and little bit of everything! The staff is quite friendly, though English is not their first language, but they are helpful and hospitable. We went at lunch... More
