Description: The Copper Onion is one of the new additions to the growing Utah foodie...
The Copper Onion is one of the new additions to the growing Utah foodie scene. Former NYC chef (and native Utahan) Ryan Lowder now brings his personal take on New American cuisine to his own kitchen with an approach inspired by his passion for Utah’s outstanding farmstead ingredients and his experience as a chef cooking his way through Barcelona, NYC and South America. The Copper Onion serves a wide array of vegetable side dishes and a menu designed to explore and share, with plates such as Ricotta dumplings with lemon, sage and brown butter and Braised Pork Belly with shaved Brussels sprouts and pickled celeriac. Entrees include Fresh house-made papparedelle with lamb ragout and Duck Confit with butternut squash and roasted mushroom caps. An insistent focus on the freshest and best is paramount; sausages and burgers are ground daily, bread is baked and ice cream is made in house, offering casual diners an exceptional experience at affordable prices.

Best burger I've tasted outside of Texas

Absolutely loved the burger here. There is only one burger option on the menu but it definitely deserves to be a stand-a-lone item. Regardless if it is order rare, medium-well, or well done, the beef was spectacular. My friend ordered her burger medium-well and I ordered mine well done. Both were... read more

Regardless if it is order rare, medium-well, or well done, the beef was spectacular. My friend ordered her burger medium-well and I ordered mine well done. Found this restaurant by searching TripAdvisor and had high expectations that were met. The menu was very inviting and had a lot pf interesting dishes. My wife and I decided to have a variety of small plates, with preference to the daily specials, instead main courses. Turned out to be a great decision since we got to taste a variety... More

Honestly I ordered the wrong item. I ordered Mary's chicken not realizing it was so soupy. I really had wanted to try the carbonara. Greatest waiter ever!

Loved this restaurant. Great service and the food was great. Unassuming outside but a great energy on the inside. Everyone in my party of six enjoyed their meal.

I sat down at the table and asked the waiter to suprize me and that's what he did. Not only that, but he was thrilled to do it, which is rare with this request. He came up with a 5 course meal that included foods I hadn't ever tried and everything was fantastic. This is a great place to go... More

I went there for dinner with 2 friends. It was awesome. It's not the classic "wanna-be-italian" food, it' really good! Trust me, I am Italian. We tried the tagliatelle with lamb meet (if I remember well) and one other dish with fried polenta: both of them were super good! Also the dessert was excellent. Of course it was a little... More

My husband and I stopped here after checking out Temple Square and split a variety of bar snacks, had a glass of wine, and split a desert. Everything we had was perfect! We had pickles, the cheese of the day, deviled eggs, tater tots, and the flourless chocolate torte. The pickles and tater tots were amazing! Both were made in... More

I had heard numerous rave reviews about this restraint. Don't misunderstand the title of my review as the food was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. But I was expecting more. More exotic food, something to excite my less than refined palette Loved the atmosphere though!

This was recommended and it was worth the trip. This is a downtown lunch spot with a few small twists on the entrees like argula salad with a burger. The fries were good and large and the service was fine even though the place was busy. There is a small outside area that is covered to eat outside. Overall this... More

The concierge at the Hotel Monaco recommended this restaurant and we are so glad he did. Food was fresh and delicious the atmosphere was casual and classy. The locals dine here so that means it's really great.
