Description: The Copper Onion is one of the new additions to the growing Utah foodie...
The Copper Onion is one of the new additions to the growing Utah foodie scene. Former NYC chef (and native Utahan) Ryan Lowder now brings his personal take on New American cuisine to his own kitchen with an approach inspired by his passion for Utah’s outstanding farmstead ingredients and his experience as a chef cooking his way through Barcelona, NYC and South America. The Copper Onion serves a wide array of vegetable side dishes and a menu designed to explore and share, with plates such as Ricotta dumplings with lemon, sage and brown butter and Braised Pork Belly with shaved Brussels sprouts and pickled celeriac. Entrees include Fresh house-made papparedelle with lamb ragout and Duck Confit with butternut squash and roasted mushroom caps. An insistent focus on the freshest and best is paramount; sausages and burgers are ground daily, bread is baked and ice cream is made in house, offering casual diners an exceptional experience at affordable prices.

Great Service and very, very good food. Fresh and original. Reservations a must - it's busy from 5pm on. Only drawback is tables are only about a foot apart so sitting is tight and it's noisy. If you are OK with that, you're in for a treat.

Great food with a unique menu. They definitely have attention to detail and the wait service is very good. Full bar and good wine list.

I was in Salt Lake on a business trip and I was looking for somewhere good to eat… I stumbled upon this place. I'm a bit of a foodie and a stickler for good service and this place delivered on both! I was seated at the counter at the kitchen so I was treated to a show as well as... More

Very busy place, but excellent food and cocktail list. Have specials each night, but the main menu is excellent also. Easy walk from most hotels - right in the middle of town.

Everyone in my group really enjoyed the food. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. This is not a cheap place to eat but it certainly lives up to the "you get what you pay for." If you are looking for a nicer place out with amazing food I would highly recommended this place.

We came here for our anniversary. We love the food here. I had the meat loaf. It was excellent! The slimy spinach on the plate was gross, but I would definitely order that plate again. The environment was loud. The service was very fast for how busy they were. I would recommend the Copper Onion to anyone.

Walked in to this non descript place and boy was I surprised by the meal I was served. Started with a great special of the day appetizer that was a custom created cheese by the chef accompanied by a side of house pickles. Both were great, asked Ben my server how the meatloaf was and he proceeded to tell me... More
