Description: The Copper Onion is one of the new additions to the growing Utah foodie scene. Former NYC chef (and native Utahan) Ryan Lowder now brings his personal take on New American cuisine to his own kitchen with an approach inspired by his passion for Utah’s outstanding farmstead ingredients and his experience as a chef cooking his way through Barcelona, NYC and South America. The Copper Onion serves a wide array of vegetable side dishes and a menu designed to explore and share, with plates such as Ricotta dumplings with lemon, sage and brown butter and Braised Pork Belly with shaved Brussels sprouts and pickled celeriac. Entrees include Fresh house-made papparedelle with lamb ragout and Duck Confit with butternut squash and roasted mushroom caps. An insistent focus on the freshest and best is paramount; sausages and burgers are ground daily, bread is baked and ice cream is made in house, offering casual diners an exceptional experience at affordable prices.

Travelling through SLC. Lots of decent reviews. Enjoyable enough, but thinks it's better than it is. Trying too hard to be hip, which attracts people who try to be hip. Nothin wrong with the food, but not memorable like the whole place.

Web arrived enroute to the SLC airport and its convenient downtown location with TA reviews didn't lead us wrong. Its tables are tightly pressed together and it is loud but the menu and food quality make it a worth while stop. We started with the tomato avocado salad and pork belly. Both were exceptional. After having a couple of great... More

Visiting from out of town and after reading these reviews I expected more. The service was ok, the bar drinks small pours, and the food was ok, but nothing special. The hamburger was small for the bun; another had meatloaf but commented the vegetables were what made the meal. The small crust of bread given was the best part of... More

I yelped while in SLC for a restaurant downtown after leaving an all day event at the convention center. I was in the mood for something really yummy and was ready to spurge for it. To my delight, Copper Onion was just what I had in mind. The restaurant was easy to find via Lyft & I was seated immediately... More

Was desperately hungry and every other place we tried was packed with convention goers, so we found this place. It wasn't horrible. Service was a little slow, and a bit on the pricey side.

This is a good brew bar - numerous choices of local and regional beers plus a wide selection of imports. Had a really good burger with "all the fixin's".

If you want a fancy dine, this is the place to go. We were seated at the bar which had its charme. My wife had the pasta carbonarra and she loved it I myself had the meatloaf and the gravy on it was out of this world. The service was quick and efficient and eventho the restaurant was packed, the... More

The food was excellent - it's sourced locally and was very fresh. The service was good - very friendly - but the wait for our entrees was quite long.

Excellent restaurant in downtown Salt Lake. We had the Charcuterie to start (Iberico & Lardo Iberico) + Shishito peppers. For my main course I had the Strip Steak. Everything was brilliantly done. The service was excellent and wine suggestions were superb. Overall a very nice experience.

This is currently one of my favorite restaurants in Salt Lake. The fresh/seasonal menu is constantly changing but be on the look out for some of my favorites. Their Beef Stroganoff is what that dish is meant to taste like. With pieces of medium rare steak instead of hamburgers, and sautéed mushrooms, topped with creme fraiche instead of sour creme,...
