The Copper Onion is one of the new additions to the growing Utah foodie scene. Former NYC chef (and native Utahan) Ryan Lowder now brings his personal take on New American cuisine to his own kitchen with an approach inspired by his passion for Utah’s outstanding farmstead ingredients and his experience as a chef cooking his way through Barcelona, NYC and South America. The Copper Onion serves a wide array of vegetable side dishes and a menu designed to explore and share, with plates such as Ricotta dumplings with lemon, sage and brown butter and Braised Pork Belly with shaved Brussels sprouts and pickled celeriac. Entrees include Fresh house-made papparedelle with lamb ragout and Duck Confit with butternut squash and roasted mushroom caps. An insistent focus on the freshest and best is paramount; sausages and burgers are ground daily, bread is baked and ice cream is made in house, offering casual diners an exceptional experience at affordable prices.

Super yummy!

Came here for dinner after training for my work with my coworkers and it was worth the hype. Got some appetizers and had the Beef Stroganoff.. oh man it looked small but by the end of the meal, I was stuffed. Definitely a must go if you're in SLC.

The food is just ok. Some things are amazing, but most is just ok. The brunch is the best and the bloody marys are great, Dinner is over priced, way too crowded and the service is very slow, not to mention the tables are uncomfortably close to one another.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this friendly & welcoming eatery. We arrived as a large group with no booking on a busy evening, and the staff quickly sorted us out with a temporary wait at their sister bar next door. An SMS arrived when our table was ready, and we went back across. The service and food choice was... More

My first visit was a business lunch yesterday. I've heard a lot of high praise for the Copper Onion and overall I think the place lived up to the hype. Food quality was very good. Soup was amazing. Atmosphere is a little noisy for my taste. Chairs seem too small. Outdoor seating area looks very nice with a southern exposure.... More

Great variety and high quality food. Lamb riblets tender (fall off the bone) and flavorful. Server very polite and not pushy.

Went here one night on vacation. Long wait for a table, but were able to walk next door to the Copper Common, their cocktail bar, for a drink. The wagyu beef stroganoff was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Very cool environment, and a great menu. Worth the wait and modest cost.

We went for Sunday brunch and sat out on the patio. Nice atmosphere outside. it seemed a little crowded inside. Brunch menu is limited but everyone found something to eat. Lots of egg dishes and a few lunch type dishes on the menu. I felt the prices were reasonable. Food was good although a little cool when served. None of... More

This is a foodie heaven - interesting drinks and nicely prepared food. We couldn't get into their new restaurant next door (next time!) but had a great meal at Copper Onion. I'm still dreaming about fennel and grapefruit special salad!

We have eaten here many times and try to choose different things on the menu each time. We have never been disappointed, and should a patron venture to try something new and not like it, they will gladly fix a different plate. It is high energy in a fairly small dining area, and reservations are a good idea in order... More

This is a fairly high end restaurant, but the prices are still reasonable. The quality of the food, service, and atmosphere here is worth every penny. It's one of my go-to restaurants for special occasions, but also when you have a group of friends that just want a great place to go. They have a solid menu, but it's hard... More
