Need I say more? It's over. Head toward the exits. Great chicken and waffles while it lasted. xxxxxx

Quirky environment, but fun. Chicken-fried chicken is our favorite. Meatloaf is great. Sides are fine—especially the mashed potatoes & gravy. Chili fries are spectacular. Drinks come in mason jars, so no need for constant refills. Great welcome-home when we’ve been out-of-town for a few weeks. Our favorite walk-to downtown.

This establishment seems to not know what identity it is trying to present. Lots of Asian theme throughout but a bit peculiarly placed, to say the least. The prices are reasonable and the food fairly average. The chicken and waffles are the only item I have ordered off the menu, and the only item I would have confidence ordering after... More

I have been to Bayleaf several times in the last 2 years. When I'm craving a plate of chicken and waffles I go here...there aren't a whole lota of options for this type of food in SL. The place has a feel unique with an open kitchen and side bar among the patrons. This is all well and good but... More

The waitress DJ was so rude I was astonished by her attitude and disrespect. We went to get drinks and possibly food if the kitchen was open. It was 12 oclock She approaches us without a greeting and says "we're closed" my response was it says you close at 1 and she continued to argue with us. We went to... More

The tables are plastered with comics! The chicken adobo was breathtakingly good. Cant wait to get it again!

We loved this food. Home cooking with lots of diverse choices too. Good prices.

Wonderful food and great service! We're from Texas and the homemade gravy, grits, chicken fried chicken and fried pickles were fantastic; just like home cooking. Portions are plentiful, the waitress was friendly but not 'in your face' and the prices were great. Well worth coming again.

From the sounds of it, Bayleaf sounds like a great southern food retreat in Salt Lake City. In reality, the food is quite average and lacks any distinct flavor or character. I was left feeling like I was eating Sysco-typical food with southern descriptions. The fried pickles are great, but the rest of menu is lackluster. They do have a... More
