My wife and I were in town for our anniversary and were efforting several different types of places. This restau was so well decorated and laid out that our experience was fantastic. The food was very tasty and we both really enjoyed our dishes. The prices are very reasonable. The wait staff were professional in every way. Our experience was... More

Sunday afternoon in Salt Lake brought us to J Wong's Asian Bistro at 4:00 PM. After somewhat of a wait after ordering, 4 delightful Spring Rolls (Wong calls them Summer Rolls) were brought to our table and were so fresh and delightful. The thin, matchstick size carrot brought a texture surprise. The glazed pecan-crusted shrimp were a true taste treat.... More

stays authentic to Chinese fare but provides fresh, modern outlook and the oversized plate ware in contemporary styles. One of the few Asian establishments in downtown SLC, we enjoyed our late night dinner there.

After three days immersed in research at the Family History Library, with no real food to speak of, it was a pleasure to walk ten minutes to J. Wong's for a pleasant solo dinner of cashew chicken and rice, with a Chinese beer. The dish was tasty, not overly sauced, and generous in the number of shrimp. The service was attentive... More

Prices have gone up and food quality is not what it used to be. This used to be a staple for our family and it's been going downhill for a year. This was my last visit.

Although having won numerous "best Chinese restaurant in Salt Lake" awards, on a national.scale it was more ordinary. The hot and sour soup was sweet and hot; not sour. The egg roll was served with some kind of ginger sauce, not hot mustard. No tea was brought to the table. The soup and eggroll, which was very good, btw, were... More

I had never ordered food from this establishment before, and oh how I wish I had. I almost felt like I had wasted years going to other places, only to get mediocre choices that lacked flavor. They completely understood my allergy, and were willing to make almost anything I wanted gluten free. I was elated. I probably ordered a lot... More

J. Wong's Asian Bistro provides excellent Chinese food in Downtown Salt Lake City. The menu has become smaller than it once was, so there are fewer items to choose from, but all the food is fresh and delicious. The wonton soup is fantastic, and the sizzling beef is outstanding. The setting is very comfortable and the service is excellent. In... More

We have been doing various Christmas family parties with a part of my husband's family since we married 15 years ago, and finally I have had a great experience at a restaurant doing it! The service was quick - they must have just had a choice that could be planned out ahead of time so we didn't have to order... More

We had a very enjoyable evening. I read some of the other reviews but do not feel as "awed" as they present. Excellent food; attentive service; expensive by Chinese food prices; clean restaurant.
