Whether it is for entertaining out of town guests, a romantic dinner for two, or a happy hour visit, Michael's always delivers the best - quality, service, and value. The appetizers and entrees are always very good. Ordering a meat dish is not a problem when it comes to how you like it prepared - it is delivered to the... More

When you sit in a restaurant and everyone coming in is already smiling, they are greeted warmly and promptly seated, and when they leave, they are still smiling and happy, you know you are in the right place. We chose Michaels for a quiet celebration. We have eaten there many times. We were struck by what I mentioned above... Everyone... More

We got into PA pretty late on a Friday and most places were getting ready to close. After we checked into the hotel we went to look for some classy appetizers and found this place. We got there 30 minutes before closing but they had no problem serving us & letting us stay past the official close. We ordered the... More

Just ate there late and after being seated we couldn't help but notice all of the staff huddled around one table so we asked our server if it was the owner at the table and she said it was a local doctor and his wife. They had the servers and kitchen staff huddled around their table. Service was extremely slow... More

This is a charming, quiet restaurant with a nice Happy Hour menu. You can easily make a meal from their small plates and the house red wine was surprisingly good. The staff is courteous and competent and the whole experience brought me back for a second meal!

This was our fourth visit to what has become one of our destination getaways. We drove nearly 2 hours to have a celebratory dinner at Michaels. It is intimate but not too formal or stuffy. The booths and tables are comfortable and you can actually have a conversation without screaming over music or other patrons. A lot of great food... More

This place has been reliably good for years-- for drinks, appetizers and supper/dinner-- busy cheerful pub atomosphere a flight down from sidewalk level across from Port News and Books. Sometimes truly excellent cooking-- the owner is almost always behind the bar (perhaps that's why it's reliable) and it's relaxing to grab a booth with a friend or friends.

Unique, romantic atmosphere in cellar location. Very good service. Food flavors delicious. Pricey but save by ordering off specials menu. Chicken Pot Pie Special huge portion, outstanding sauce. Chicken with gnocchi huge serving, wonderful flavors. Salads extra, but fresh. Chocolate Lava Cake mouth watering.

I reviewed this previously but since the last several times of dining here we probably will not be back for awhile. So most recent experience: We were greeted and seated immediately, so far so good, our waitress was nice and attentive..... but then never came back. A younger inexperienced girl came over and brought drinks and an appetizer plate which... More
