Nu -Way makes one of the best hot dogs in America. Original all the way - is the way to order it. They also have the famous flaky ice - it really is different in a great way. The sweet tea is real and really sweet. The downtown location is the original and the vibe is real. If you are... More

I went to Nu-Way Weiners original location in August 2014 and the food was worth the drive. The staff at the restaurant was very professional and the food tasted fresh and delicious. I had two chili dogs and the chili was delicious and the French Fried were wonderful.

Firstly I am a hot dog fiend This is with a southern twist or at least a "red" twist - there signature - all the dogs are red hot color - but not spicy - Get the ATW - all the way - unique longer then bun red hot dog - the hot dog case snaps when you bite in... More

If you are driving from Atlanta to Savannah, this is a good place to stop by for a quick meal (and one of remarkably few on this stretch). The food was simple, good and cheap: we had a classic hotdog, a chili-dog, fries and sodas for $ 12. We enjoyed the friendly and fast service and particularly the decorations consisting... More

After moving to the area, I was told all about Nu-Way. The flaky ice is incredible, as is the chocolate malt. The bright red wieners with cinnamon chili, I could do without. Guess it is something you must have grown up with to appreciate the dogs. The staff is super-friendly!

Nu-Way wieners is a Macon landmark. They've been servin' up great grilled hot dogs since 1916!!! & man, are they good!!! They still use the very RED wieners, too. & their chili is definitely different than what you're used to! Their hamburgers & bar b que are darn good, too! & "Famous Flakey Ice" in their drinks! (The ice is... More

So, I LOVE nuway- but my husband and I went into this one during the week about 11 and the 3 employees were talking about something personal and completely ignored us, but while we waited I saw 7 roaches crawling around!!! Most behind the counter on the wall where they cook and 2 by the booths- we just left!! Omg... More

Had a dog scrambled and a coney last Thursday after three stops at the local meat and threes that all closed at 3PM. This old tradition was pretty good for a place that has been there as long as it has. The chocolate shake was a thick frostie concoction that did not go through a straw. The folks were very... More

The above is their slogan. I have always said that if I ever left Macon the only reason I would come back for was a Nuway weiner. I love them still even though I think they are adding something hotter than it used to be to the sauce.

Bare bones atmosphere circa 1950s, the real thing, not a retro throwback; even the sometimes surly service seems to be part of its charm. The slaw dog is the standout here, finely chopped, not-too-wet slaw that is the perfect complement to the tasty, electric-red dog. The chili on the "all the way" dogs is a bit sweet for my taste...
