Fresh, Delicious and Reasonable

We went to the back burner for lunch. Our waitress "Katie" was quick witted and excellent. The food was fresh, nicely prepared and plated and very reasonably priced. The dessert selection was outstanding. They were able to accommodate one of our party who has food allergies.

We celebrated a birthday here on a Saturday evening and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! This was our first visit since the new chef arrived. The dining area is small and quaint with different rooms, and the staff are well-trained and attentive. (Reservations are recommended.) The ambiance and service are not pretentious like the North Macon fine dining restaurants. Most patrons... More

We dined here for a special occasion and knew the menu prices were upscale. Although our attire was faux designer, the hostess and server did not seem to treat us as well as the Ingleside area regulars. The food was very well seasoned and prepared with excellent presentation; however, the server was slow to deliver as it appeared that the... More

Go on Thursday and order the lobster (half lobster was plenty) - you might want to call and preorder a lobster before you go. The potatoes and bread were yummy, too! Neat building and great service.

My wife and I found this Resturant while passing through Macon on our way to Florida. The Salmon with Lobster Sauce was delicious and cooked to perfection. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass and that was cooked to perfection as well. The Sautéed Spinach was awesome as well. This Resturant was worth the detour off of The interstate.

I don't mind paying premium prices at a restaurant that delivers a quality meal. Our experience was that Backburner delivers what it promises, an exceptional fine dining experience. The night we were there lobster was featured and it was spectacular. I waited tables at a high end restaurant in Vermont many years ago which served absolutely fresh Maine lobster and... More

Our overall experience was just average. The food was ok but the service was slow and the servers were not very knowledgable about the food and wines. They were out of the 1st two bottles of wine we tired to order, and they were also out of the several of the specials they had reviewed with us. My husband ordered... More

We usually go for special occasions because it is so expensive. They do not give you a lot of food, so leave the big eaters at home. Most of the time, we have a very good meal.

My wife and I had lunch here today and it was wonderful. We were wearing shorts and t-shirts and were a little undressed, but it seemed fine for lunch. For dinner it would be appropriate to be more formally attired. Food was fantastic and service was very professional. They bring out fresh bread from the oven before your entree arrives.... More

The back Burner changed ownership several months ago. Finally we decided to try it out last weekend. We were pleasantly surprised that the menu actually changed from the previous owner's menu which was very limited. Several meat and fish options were available as entrees. we tried two of their appetizer specials that day, octopus and scallops, both were very tasty. We... More
