I've been to many French Fine Dining restaurants in my day. Normally, I would write a detailed review about my experience. To be perfectly honest, it's not worth my time or money. My salad had so much water on it, I didn't even drink from my water glass. The saffron sauce tasted like White Wine Sauce, the lobster was over... More

We have moved about a year ago from Asheville, NC and discovered this place through friends from church. We absolutely LOVED IT !!! The food was amazing and the service was good as well. My wife ordered the Gazpacho and I had the crab cakes. My wife said it was the best Gazpacho she's ever had and my crab cakes... More

Always delicious. The crab salad rocks. Filet with cracked pepper is yummy. Price is a little high but worth it at the first bite

While not an inexpensive spot, the food is worth paying a few extra dollars for. We tried the crab cakes (very good), the escargot (outstanding), the scallops (very good), the duck breast (very good) and the blueberry cheesecake (very good). The wine list was acceptable and the service was decent. We liked the converted small house atmosphere but it can... More

This restaurant is a gem hiding in the Ingleside Village area of Macon. A wonderful intimate little place with delectible culinary delights awaits you. I truly enjoyed my experience here. For a large party make reservations in advance and ask for the private dining room. It is a great place to enjoy the company of friends!

From the recommendations we read online we thought we would celebrate Valentine's Day and our 25th Anniversary with dinner at The Back Burner. Because it was Valentine's Day they were serving a Prix Fixe menu. Which we did not know until we were seated and handed the very limited menu. Appetizers were okay. My husband had the crab cake which... More

I'm on my third daughter to attend Mercer University in Macon, and this is the first time we've eaten at The Back Burner! I am not happy! All these years of limited dining choices and this gem was hidden away without me knowing? We ate here to celebrate our daughter's 25th birthday on a recent Saturday night and our meal... More

I will first start out by saying if you're going to eat here, make sure you have a reservation! The first time I went, it was a stumble-upon-restaurant, and I know they would have preferred I had a reservation, but the food is well worth the trouble of making a reservation! Their chef is wonderful, and I have never had... More

This little gem is located in a quiet, shady neighborhood of mostly homes. In fact, it may be a former home now serving meals in several intimate first floor dining rooms. The rooms are decorated with lovely art and the lighting is just right, a very comfortable and elegant place. The service is very attentive and professional while staying warm, and... More

Food is prepared to order. Fish was delicious. Salads are great. Desserts are sweet but worth saving room for. Staff is attentive. For a French restaurant, portions are large. Be prepared to $100 bill for one wine, one beer, one salad, one appetizer, two entrees, two coffees and one dessert. Really not bad for fine dining. Restaurant is a bit... More
