Description: This is one of my favorite restaurants in Macon, Ga. They have been opened since 1979. I make a point to eat here everytime I come to Macon. It is not a fancy place, but they serve some of the best fresh seafood in town. The restaurant is only open for dinner only. They offer an earlybird menu from 5:00 till 6:00 PM with reduced prices. I would definately recommend Jim Shaw's to anyone looking for a good seafood meal.

Regulars we are never dissapointed. If you have never have tried the pimento cheese fritters with pepper jelly, you have missed one of this lives treats. We usually have the voodoo shrimp...or fresh fish. You can't go wrong.

This place hasn't changed decor since...ever! Still, fun to step back in time. The food was great freshly prepared and service was great. Love the house dressing! Fried shrimp, salmon cakes, sea scallops & sweet potato fries - thumbs up! A bit pricey, but good!

I had the whole catfish and my wife had the frog legs. Both meals were very good. The fried green tomatoes were great!

Don't go if you're a seafood snob, as this is fairly run-of-the-mill for seafood joints. But the atmosphere is great, and it's a local legend. Really good food and beer!

While on vacation in Macon, my friends decided to take me to this restaurant. The exterior is small and somewhat misleading. The inside is VERY small as well, but the quality and generous portions of our meals really did surprise me. Their dinner salads are large enough for two, and their steaks are absolutely wonderful. Even though this place is... More

This is a fine seafood restaurant that is not on the coast. The selections are varied and the servings are generous, and the price is right. There is full bar service. We travel extensively in the Southeast, and this is one of the best for seafood. Our waitress, Morgan, was informed and prompt and pleasant. We will return on our... More

recently tried this restaurant and had a great meal. Tried the blackened gator as an appetizer it was very good, somewhat chewy, but the blackening spices were great. I also tried the two combo meal and got frog legs and blackened catfish fillets. The fillets were very small but good. The frogs legs were moist and very good. My husband... More

We were taken to Jim Shaw's by a friend, who has lived in Macon his whole life. We ate on the "porch" that is out by the bar, not in the actual dining room. Definitely a very casual situation - you order at the bar and then go and get your food when they call you from the bar. It... More

While working in Macon, I always ask the locals where to go for a good meal. Jim Shaw's won, hands down. Everything was so fresh and delicious. It took a little while to get my food, but I think it was the preparation, so I did not mind the wait. I had salmon, baked potato, fried green tomatoes with shrimp... More
