This is one of my favorite restaurants in Macon, Ga. They have been opened since 1979. I make a point to eat here everytime I come to Macon. It is not a fancy place, but they serve some of the best fresh seafood in town. The restaurant is only open for dinner only. They offer an earlybird menu from 5:00 till 6:00 PM with reduced prices. I would definately recommend Jim Shaw's to anyone looking for a good seafood meal.

Local food and GOOD

We arrived in Macon in the evening after driving all day and lucky we found this place. They have food seafood with daily specials. The wait staff was very friendly and the service was fast. The shrimp salad with fresh and the shrimp was tasty. The place isn't fancy but the food was good!

Excellent grilled grouper, fried shrimp done right. Truly the best seafood I have had away from a coastline in years. Service is both friendly and efficient. Wish I had room for dessert.....maybe next time.

Two colleagues and I ate a Jim Shaw’s on a business trip. We each ordered something different, and we were each happy with our meals. Service was great and prompt. This place serves a wide variety of seafood. I ordered oysters, very tasty. Highly recommend.

This is a staple for North Macon residents. Off the beaten path, this place looks and acts like a seafood place you'd find in St. Simons -- laid back whatever you want attitude, rustic bar area, well-cooked fish and seafood. No linen here or wine list, just the kind of good food that the locals keep coming back for. Early... More

there is not many things that beat fresh fish. Jim Shaws was recommended by the ladies at the front desk, and they were spot on. The service was extremely pleasant, and the fish was fresh and well prepared. The cheese grits, something we don't find up north, was so very good. We will be back again. Small and quite homey,... This is a small cafe type restaurant with great seafood. We went late and it was fixing to close. They were very gracious and service was excellent . The food was well prepared and very tasty. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was we ate at Dragoe's in Jackson, Miss and it was a little better.

Really good seafood in the middle of Georgia was a total surprise to us. We live in the northeast right on the ocean where seafood is a mainstay. This place was recommended by Best Western on Chambers Rd. We arrived late to the hotel and were just looking for anyplace to eat, when asked what we like, this place came... More

The food is cooked well and you get plenty of it, but it seems a bit pricey. It could be that we aren't anywhere near the coast, but I tend to think that neighborhood can get those prices. The restaurant is very small so get there early or be prepared for a long wait, that is if you can get... More

I haven't tried enough Macon restaurants to say they're the best as the previous reviews rank it, but I had the Pick Two Platter with blackened scallops and grilled tuna bits and there was a generous portion of both with slightly more tuna. The blackened flavoring was excellent, but the tuna was a bit bland. Maybe I shouldn't have paired... More

Regulars we are never dissapointed. If you have never have tried the pimento cheese fritters with pepper jelly, you have missed one of this lives treats. We usually have the voodoo shrimp...or fresh fish. You can't go wrong.
