Our anniversary happened to fall on a blah Monday in middle Georgia. Nothing going on around town except tours of our museums or seeing a movie. I was not in the mood for either. It was our 53rd anniversary and we didn't want to put off the celebration after the fact. We decided on a kicked back day at home,... More

I've been here one a few occasions. It's great for a date night with the dim lighting. It's in an alley so if you're not from the area it could be hard to find. They do have a bar area in the front area and the dining in back. I've had the lamb chops which were ok but the duck... More

Don't be put off by the unprepossessing appearance of this restaurant or the grubby alley in which it is situated. It is a diamond in the rough. A former speakeasy the building has been a place of service since the 1930's. The heavy door opens up into a bar area but you are then led back and back and back... More

My husband and I discovered Downtown Grill about five years ago. We absolutely love the atmosphere, food, and staff. The staff personally greets us when we arrive. Aaron is one of our favorites servers. The bread before dinner is delicious, and the meals are fantastic. We recommend the New York Strip (blackened) and Tomato Cream Pasta with scallops (blackened). The... More

This was one of our best meals in Macon. The waiter allowed us to take our time enjoying each course. The walls were authentic brick walls and though it was hidden in an alley the actual place was much larger than it appeared yet intimate. They offered 4 types of fillet and we got the filet with goat geese and... More

The food was excellent, as it always is, at Downtown Grill. This is one of my favorite local establishments and has been since Tom opened it years ago and it has continued to thrive through ownership change. I'm always in awe at how they get the bread so crusty on the outside and yet so soft inside. This review would... More

Great dinner with family for a birthday celebration! Excellent server and food. Our server suggested the Ostrich medium rare. Totally unexpected how good it was. Thx for a great evening.

The atmosphere is great for intimate occasions. My sisters steak was chewy and my friends crab cakes were not the best. My seafood soufflé was out of this world, along with my spinach and garlic dish.

Very nice place... Out of the way, great service, great menu! Food was fab! Would return for sure. They allow smoking in the bar ( I don't smoke, but never smelled smoke).
