In a million years I wouldn't have expected to find this place in Macon, GA - but there it is... to call it a Steak-House is to undersell it. The menu is rather eclectic and the waitstaff are, to say the least, enthusiastic, very knowledgeable and proud of the food. The atmosphere is rich and inviting and the wine selection... More

One of the more upscale eateries in Macon. Were there for our anniversary. Amazing bar list. I think the best steaks in town. The bar allows cigars so be aware. The wife had the ribeye. This time a bit tough. I had the scallops. Just right. Side of wonderful cheese grits. Yes! One thing I noticed. I used Open Table... More

This was recommended by our accommodation. Yes, it is intimate and elegant although pricey for what it is. We could only manage a main course each, and these were very filling. Also our server was good and industrious. Note that the meals are served on cold plates. There is an issue with the wine list which is not updated for... More

I was fortunate enough to have some business associates pick up the tab for dinner at this restaurant. When we entered we were almost knocked over by the cigarette smoke. We did not have reservations but that was not a problem. We asked if they had a table far away from the smoke and pleasantly surprised .. they did and... More

In walking distance of our hotel, this was a great place to dine on our only night in Macon. The atmosphere and service were excellent. I had a rib-eye steak that was cooked exactly as requested and was superb quality. The only downside was the 'elevator' music. Some gentle classical or jazz would have been perfect.

Terrific atmosphere, very intimate. My wife and I went there for her birthday and it's a romantic setting. Excellent bar and service. The food was also excellent with one odd exception, an assorted cheese plate that essentially had supermarket cheese cubes. But other than that, highly recommended.

Recently met with friends for Dinner. We have previously visited this restaurant and we have enjoyed it. Selection of adult beverages is great, food was well prepared and presented and was delicious. However the dessert, a chocolate mouse was frozen rock hard, even after we alerted the server, the desert was returned to us in the same condition: inedible.

The restaurant was recommended by the 1842 Inn staff. Despite its dodgy looking entrance the interior was just lovely. The subdued lighting and alcove-type seating gave the venue a very intimate feel. There was an extensive menu and my husband and me each had a really excellent meal. We will definitely return should we visit the area again.

My husband had a business dinner my 3 year old and I joined him. The staff did not make us feel uncomfortable with our son which is a plus. They were very accommodating, they even made him his favorite, chocolate milk!! As prior reviews stated the cigar parlor in the front entrance is a turn off if you are a... More

Love the food. Unique atmosphere with gourmet food. Very pricey. Do not go unless your pockets are full.
