Good Steaks

While this isn't my favorite restaurant in town, we occasionally enjoy dining here for steak. They have great desserts, too.

This is the kind of restaurant you expect to find in a much larger city. The bourbon and wine selection are fantastic. Prime aged beef never disappoints. My go to meal is a filet with sautéed mushrooms and cheese grits. Specials are always interesting as well. Freshwater Trout is as good as I've ver had. Great staff as well. Keep... More

The bar had such a wonderful ambiance, and the food was delicious and nicely presented. This is a quaint little restaurant in the downtown Macon area. The bartender and wait staff were welcoming and accommodating. Dining at the bar was a charming experience. The other restaurant guests seemed to be local patrons who were quite friendly. My husband had the... More

Was in town for graduation and our son had told us about this out of the way restaurant. So we went and tried it. Was not disappointed. We all ordered steaks which were cooked as ordered and very tender. We also got the crab cakes and fried artichoke hearts as appetizer The crab cakes were great, just wish they gave... More

I had another excellent meal at the Downtown Grill and it was the best meal I have had there yet and one of the best I've ever had. It was a business meal and all three of us ordered a different entrée and were all jealous of each other. I had the pork chop special with the bourbon mustard and... More

Because of the stubbornness of staff that would not substitute chicken for lamb in a mixed grill (without a $6.00 up charge),we left on principle. The place, though wrought with history, needs a makeover. It literally stunk.

We arrived at the restaurant on a Monday night, the town was quiet and there were not many places open. Our expectations were not high as this restaurant was also very quiet. However our expectations were massively surpassed and we ended up with a great meal and superb service. Our server Aaron ( a big personality), made us feel comfortable... More

We met some friends at the Downtown Grill, after looking around for it, the sign is up high. The service was good, they have what I guess you'd call mood lighting, it was kinda dark in the rooms and if the waitress tells you the specials, please ask the prices!! Bone in ribeye " Cowboy Steak" was $42.00 each. When... More

Just finished an evening here with friends. It was my husband's and my first time dining here but everyone else in our group had been before. We immediately felt like the server was in a hurry and that we were putting her out. She was very curt and just not friendly. The food, for the most part, made up for... More

This restaurant is in the central business district but it is tucked out of the way and you have to look hard to find it. I have eaten here over several years and the quality of the food has remained high. the portion size was good and the quality of the meal was a good value for the dollar. One... More
