Nice Sunday lunch

We were just passing through and looking for somewhere to eat and we were lucky to stumble upon the Talbot Inn. Nice selection of local real ales and Cask Marque too. I like that there's not too much on their menu and we stuck with Sunday lunch. Slow cooked lamb was tender and flavoursome. The... read more

The food here is just on the OK side. Nothing more. Folk rave about it. God knows why. Our peas were aired at best. We ate them first so they weren't completely cold. Hmmm 2/10 at best, at very best. McDonalds is only a short drive away. So that's good.

I visited the Talbot with a group of friends for Sunday lunch, I had heard the food was good and we weren't disappointed. I would have preferred more sauce on my prawn cocktail starter but it's a small point. Quite a few of us had the lamb, the portion sizes were large and the meat, Yorkshire pudding etc. were delicious.... More

Been coming here many years. Great pub, food is ok, if you eat upstairs in the restaurant it's a quality treat for the family.

We recently went to the Talbot with 15 friends and family to celebrate a Birthday. Due to the limited selection on the menu, three of our group asked if they could pick something from the bar menu. They were told "no, we don't do that", by who I assume was the Head Waitress. We asked why, as they were still... More
