Nice afternoon meal

Been advised a fee times by friends. And glad we did. Called in on the of chance. Landed on 😀 a home cook meal for £5 as it was a Tuesday. I had the steak and ale pie and my partner had the lasagne. My pie was offered with homemade chips or mushy peas or veg. Went for chips and... read more

Visited with a large group of family members, the service was quick even though the restaurant was very busy and all our food was received together, even though we had a table of 12. The meal I had was very nice, although I was disappointed there was only 1 vegetarian option on the main menu for one of my guests... More

The service was rubbish and the food was awful will defiantly not be going again. Not very much choice on the menu vegetables where hard and the chips greasy, the staff not at all interested.

I was part of a group of 4 adults and 1 toddler who ate at the Talbot today. From start to finish the service was exceptional. The staff were attentive without being over baring. The food was tasty although I would have expected a bigger portion of the garlic mushrooms. My main (chicken from a specials board) was tasty but... More

I recently visited the Talbot inn for steak night, the offer is great two steaks for £25 and a free desert with a voucher, you can't grumble for a steak and dessert for £12.50. The pub itself is very old feeling and is quite tight inside, small stair ways and small areas but it does add the to the warm,... More

Over the past few weeks I have eaten in The Talbot on at least 6 times due to having a new kitchen fitted, well that's my excuse! Starting with Mothers Day lunch in the restaurant which was superb and great value, the other occassions eating in the pub. I can honestly say every meal has been fantastic. Monday's £5.00 menu... Hearty and tasty home made food, great range of beers and friendly welcome from efficient and helpful staff. Food is great value too. Desperately in need of a refurbishment though to bring it up to date, and freshen up. Great little local which would top notch if refurbished sensibly.

Booked a meal for 3 of us on a Sunday. Was seated upstairs and told all options available on the menu . We opted for the traditional Sunday roast. We weren't disappointed. Hot piping food and plenty of it. Couldn't manage a dessert but my son did and said it was superb. Good price for good food and service. Will... More

We were impressed by the online restaurant menu so asked for a table upstairs. We were seated straight away by a lovely server who was able to recommend a local beer to accompany the meal. The "lamb Henry" was lovely and the speciality potatoes chorizo band paprika were an excellent accompaniment. Generous portions were great value, unfortunately no room for... More

A lovely traditional but second to none, English pub serving fabulous food with excellent service. The upstairs restaurant is cosy but not cramped. Plenty of space around each table created a relaxing atmosphere. The food is delicious, well presented and plentiful. Children had their own menu covering the classic favourites which were home made with the same pride that was... More
