I'd heard good things about the Talbot and so was interested to try it. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food menu has some appealing options. However when the food came it was luke warm, both in flavour and temperature which was a shame. It was OK, and I would probably go back to give it a second... More

Four of us came here for the first time for Sunday lunch. The Yorkshire puddings were almost burnt which was a major letdown! Noticed they all looked black that was coming out. But the gravy was delicious! My sister had chicken Kiev which had literally no garlic in at all!! Veg was very very hard, we do like it crunchy... More

took friends here for Sunday Lunch a few weeks ago, best food & price we've found for a long time. The veg came separately & there was ample for our large vege appetite. We ladies are small eater so we got small meals & struggled to eat it all!

Hello, Thank you for your nice review. I am pleased that you enjoyed the Sunday Lunch, the veg is sometimes a hard one to judge, some eat loads and some none at all, so we're happy that you found the portion to your satisfaction! Please visit us again soon! Kind regards, Leah More

After visiting for a family meal out , we were greeted and taken to our table .. As we were being served drinks the young man knocked my cutlery off the table and onto the floor . He picked the cutlery up and put it back on the table instead of replacing it .. When the food arrived it was... More

The food was excellent with a good range of taste catered for .The Chefs where most accommodating preparing veg gravy and Yorkshire puddings not on the menu .The staff where attentive no pressure to complete courses and all this in a relaxed atmosphere .

We came for a gourp xmas meal, the food was nice enough but seemed very unorganized , i understand its hard to service large parties. some people adored there meals but other meals were mediocre but you cannot please everyone. The bar down stairs was very popular

Warm welcome greated us by a member of staff. We dinned in the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the decor. We ordered steak, beef Wellington and children's fish N chips and all were served and cooked excellent. Not really had room for pud but we managed to squeeze one down apple crumble wi custard and choc and strawberry cream... More

The pub food here is stunning - old fashioned Steak and Ale Pie made with PROPER pastry - non of this 'puff pastry lid' malarkey! Divine braised beef, stunning Sunday Lunches, fish, steaks - you name it and it probably on there somewhere. They do have an upstairs restaurant which is very tastefully decorated and if there is a group... More
