Excellent snap at a great price

After moving from the area, we made a special trip back to this old favourite. It was great to see that the amazing food and brill service was still on offer. Lovely Barnsley hospitality and service with a smile. Thank you

I've been meaning to eat here after seeing all their positive reviews, so visited on a Wednesday lunchtime. Warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. Pub was pretty quiet, but not unusual in mid week. Ordered their Haddock & chips, which came with mushy peas. Good quality fish, proper homemade chips & generous portion. They do Sunday Roast's for... More

Went for Sunday Lunch for my Mum's birthday, We had high hopes of the meat on the menu as the website advertised it as being supplied by Rusby's (Locally farmed and a favourite of ours) We weren't disappointed! When we arrived we were shown immediately to our table by friendly and helpful staff, The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded.... More

This is our local pub, its an excellent place for a bar meal or lovely restaurant upstairs. We recently called in for Sunday lunch, I had turkey and my husband the roast beef. It was piping hot, plenty of meat with a yorkshire pud and nicely cooked veg in a separate dish. We didnt have room for a pudding but... More

Room for disabled parking good but limited. Wheelchair access is not very good. As a person with a physical disability who doesn't have to rely on a wheelchair, I was able to walk up and down the steps at the back entrance. The staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. We were able to take a seat and just order... More

Hello, Thank you for your review following your recent visit. I am glad that you enjoyed club night. We do have some access issues for disables guests as the pub being so old has many different levels. We do try to provide hand rails where possible, and our staff are always happy to help those who may experience some difficulty... More

Four of us plus 2 German Shepherds called in for Sunday lunch on the 11th. We were made very welcome and ate in the bar area. The food was very very good and there was lots of it and all at a very reasonable price. £36.00 for 4 meals and drinks. The locals were friendly and loved the dogs. If... More

This has recently become our ‘local’ and we visit maybe once or twice a week. There is a nice atmosphere and has always been relatively busy. There is a wide range of ‘real ales’ is that is your thing. Ive only eaten once and ordered a cheeseburger, the portion was massive and was very very nice. All the other food... More

Welcome to the area! We are pleased to have more local patrons who love and support their village pub! We will soon be adding 2 craft beer lines to the bar as well, so if you are a real ale fan, I'm sure you might give these a try too. Kind regards, Leah More
