Very accommodating

We visited as a group of ten. As there are no reservations we looked in to see if there were any tables we could use. When the waiter found out our requirements he very quickly sorted out a table for us all. Great atmosphere. Plenty of young travellers in this popular bar and eating place. Service... read more

Outstanding food for dinner, lunch or breakfast. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is superb. They also have a good selection of wine and craft beer. We found their lamb shank to be the best we had tasted during our stay in New Zealand. Lastly, their desserts were to die for. A perfect ending to a day hiking... More

Stopped in for both an appetizer and for lunch. In both cases, service was fast and attentive. Food portions were generous and very good. I had the lamb pie with fries & salad for lunch - all were excellent. Good selection of beer, with an interesting menu.

Two mature men on a fishing trip called in for dinner. This is a Speights Ale House so the menu is standard to this franchise. We both ordered the seafood chowder and a glass of Chardonnay. The chowder was very ordinary. It contained very small mussels which makes me think it is out of a packet and not fresh. It... More

Went there for lunch when our excursion to Franz Josef was cancelled due to bad weather. The restaurant had a wet camper smell inside, which may or may not have been due to all the wet bodies inside from a downpour. Opted for the patio despite the cold, wet day. They have lots of heaters which they can direct right... More

It's a great spot to watch the world go by and see the helicopters take off and land that's why it was called the landing

We stopped in for drinks and stayed for dinner. I had a pizza and my wife had the lamb salad. Good meals and nice location with plenty of sun and staff were good.

Not impressed with the food at all. Garlic bread was the spongy processed white bread with lots of butter drenching half of it. Mashed potatoes on the Fish is a Dish were horrible- tastes like reconstituted flakes. Burger - overall very bad. Our main dishes took over 40 minutes to arrive. So sorry we chose this place.
